XCC Map Extractor

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

just wondering if anyone can tell me what im doing wrong?? i realy have not got a clue??? and it has to bee expressed in n00b/simpleten terms lol

Im trying to get the RA2 campaign maps into FA so i can edit and use them in YR as multiplayer maps but i cant figure out how to!

I use the XCC mixer program and open the RA2 directory (first dacade version) and open the maps02 file

mixerpic1mu8.th.jpg

then select one of the files to extract

mixerpic2jz7.th.jpg

Then save it as a .yrm file so i can open it in FA

mixerpic3dt2.th.jpg

but when i look for the file in the folder where i put it noting appears, its only visable with the XCC mixer

Ive read through all the how toos on the XCC site and its just gobeldy gook to me + ive looked for a thread about this and it just says to read the XCC site so sorry if its been posted before.

Simply extract the map with the .map extension. You can open it with FA2, and make sure you save the map in the RA2 folder instead of the default location.

No luck, i extract the .map file, (without changeing the extention? + ive tryed changing it to .yrm too) save it, then when i open FA2 and come to open the extracted file (where it was saved) FA2 does not display it!

but if i extract the file again and go to save it the file is already there (only visable to XCC when i save)

Any ideas??

+ thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
