I like Grey Goo. Some missions (like the last one) are hard as nails, too
-
The sold soundtrack (which I got free with the game since I bought it during the opening weekend) is disappointingly short. 10 tracks. I instead recorded the full 31 tracks from the ingame jukebox with Audacity, and saved them as flac. They're probably better quality than the mp3 soundtrack ones The soundtrack is decidedly different from the C&C ones, since the game has a central recurring game theme, a style for each side, and more or less a recurring theme per side, too. So those central themes pop up every now and then, whereas in C&C each track generally has its own distinct melody. But, the central game theme is extremely awesome, and you can hear Frank had fun with having an entire orchestra at his disposal. Some stuff (unsurprisingly; he's a huuuge fan) sounds kind of Star Wars like. I'm actually planning to do a track-by-track review of the music at some point... but to do that I first want to replay the campaign and sort the tracks by side.

Is this Paris apartment real or unreal?
Nyerguds replied to PurpleGaga27's topic in Gaming Discussion
Well, seen the faces in Grey Goo? Comes pretty close to photorealistic too. -
Seems interesting... but that C&C logo remake looks awful.

There was an INI file long ago
Nyerguds replied to vastenemy's topic in Command & Conquer / Covert Operations Maps & Modding
I'm very sorry, but the only explanation here is that you must be misremembering things. The ini modding concept exists, but not in Command & Conquer 1; it was introduced in Red Alert 1. So, you must simply be thinking of the wrong game. I've delved into the binary bowels of this game; there is nothing in there to read game stats. The only thing currently in there, the ini-based music reading, was added in my patch. Though traces were found of a rudimentary ini-based units and buildings properties reading system in Dune II, no version or demo of C&C1 ever had anything like it. -
Everything Wrong with EA in 5 min or less

IT didn't even mention the Westwood/Bullfrog/Maxis Tactic - buying successful companies for their franchises and then tearing them apart -
Ahh, that's a pity. I wish you well in your future endeavours, and hope to see you again in the future. ... tastes like chicken?

CNCNZ.com Poll: Official C&C Forums Closed Down
Nyerguds replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
That's not really a fair assessment, since that was purely caused by EA never updating the website and tricking people into buying TUC. Those people had a right to know, and the forums were sadly the only communications channel left. -
Heehee. I knew it'd be a role reversal from the start. The Goo are the 'explorers', and they see humanity as aggressors. Nice

Ahh, what a pity. So many good sites are dead now. C&C Den, PlanetC&C, CnCWorld... -
Compatibility TFD 1.03 vs non TFD Games in LAN?
Nyerguds replied to Sven Stursberg's topic in The First Decade Patch 1.04
Ahh! I thought I recognized that avatar Been a while since I've visited cncforen.de; I usually just go alert people of new versions, but there hasn't been much activity on my C&C95 patch for the last few years -
Compatibility TFD 1.03 vs non TFD Games in LAN?
Nyerguds replied to Sven Stursberg's topic in The First Decade Patch 1.04
Hey, I'm mostly the C&C1 guy, and C&C95, either upgraded to or simply downloaded as v1.06, should have no problems whatsoever. Except I heard 6 player games don't work right, capping the games to 5 players. Yeah... that videos addon I made should never have been added to the patch, really. Though I still think it's ridiculously dumb that adding a few entries to the videos list makes the game incompatible. Then again, if you have it on all machines it shouldn't give any issues either. Though, I guess if you're just doing LAN, that isn't terribly useful -
Yes.... yes it kinda is

One Install Multiple Mods?
Nyerguds replied to Mizmo Spacely's topic in Red Alert 2 / Yuri's Revenge
It's possible. Just not legal xD -
No idea. Seemed to depend on the OS from what I saw. I frequently browse the EA Answers HQ support forum of C&C.

"pig iron", lol. I heard that people on the Origin version of RA2 (from The Ultimate Collection) often get the exploding glitch, though. Yay for EA messing that up

How to define a C&C game

I totally own it, though (then again, I kinda collect C&C1 versions, so, yeah ) -
