    What's in your Rig?

Oh wow! I didn't know that the 9600 was already out. Very exciting. Yeah man, forget the 8600!

    What's in your Rig?

Nice. Have you looked into the benchmarks for the 8600 though? The 7600 was a great card, but apparently the 8600 is a but underwhelming when it comes to performance. You may want to stick with the 7900 for a while, or look into the 8800 GS which you can get for something like 150 USD (pretty remarkable deal when it comes to price/performance). But yeah, especially when it comes to gaming, Vista can at times be a bit sluggish and unreliable. But you need it for directx10!

    Hey

I know I know...I just don't have it in me anymore. My head hangs in shame. (Though maybe you didn't pick up on some of that sarcasm...?) Haha, you're not getting rid of me THAT easily Sonic! Yes, Red Alert 3 is pretty exciting news indeed... Well, it was you who let his shiny new moderator powers go to his head. It was the impetus for my taking a sabatical, so I think it was a pretty relevant thing to address upon my return. (Also, what rule did I break, exactly?) Yes, by all means, please keep it to yourself! So quickly? My, you are a remarkable judge of character! And if I may say so, your self-righteousness has barely changed at all either! I guess there's something to be said for consistency...

    Hey

Gee, thanks hypno! Well sure I do! The suspension was uncalled for. You got it boss.

    What's in your Rig?

If you don't have a rig that can run it, sure Vista can be a pain...but I've had a great experience with it so far.

Ah! Thanks, I knew I forgot something. *edited

    Hey

WHAT?? C&C King, NO! Nobody can replace him! Well Saracen, whoever you are, I'm going to be hanging around for a while this time .

    Hey

Oh yes Fenring. Judgment day is here . I thought I'd drop by and see how everything is going. After getting suspended by an uppity Hypnotist during a somewhat spirited discussion on evolution, I thought I'd concentrate on my school work for a while (plus, of course, my missionary work in Africa). Hypno got to feel like a big man for a little while, I had one less distraction....win win. The forums look great! It's nice to see that everything is going well, and that the C&C franchise is alive and kicking! We finally got C&C Tiberian Twilight!!!

    Do Aliens Exist?

That's right Tree! Man... I LOVE non-scientists who think that they have the weight of science behind their blind naturalistic atheism. YOU DON'T. You have absolutely no reason to feel superior, and creationism is, if anything, MORE rational. Any attempt to make it seem otherwise is usually blind propaganda. I look forward to your actual response. And please... for the sake of all of us, tone down the arrogance, would you? Thanks.
  14. BWare

    Are you getting Vista?

No no no... they're talking about major upgrades, like a new motherboard. Pretty much anything short of that won't be a problem. But even if there are problems here, you know that at the end of the day they WILL be worked out. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

    Do Aliens Exist?

Haha, there's no need for things to get nasty if we can all act like adults here! Alpha, I haven't the slightest clue. In fact, that's a pretty good question. Bottom line, none of us knows :?. ...but we DO know that the odds of life coming into existence on its own are pretty much slim to none.

    Do Aliens Exist?

Genesis 1:1. (I know I know, we all knew it would come to this ) But yeah, the fact that it DID happen here despite those enormous odds (AND in spite of the ironclad scientific laws of the universe) is enormous proof of an active creator. *Note for the slow: This is not religious discussion. It is scientific. Anyone who needs this explained, please just stay out of the discussion altogether.

    Do Aliens Exist?

Ugh. Did you not JUST read what I said there? Life doesn't come from nothing. Order doesn't spring from chaos... it JUST DOESN'T HAPPEN. Plus, it's not me who's saying that- it's lots of people much smarter than me  And that's EXACTLY where the whole "God" thing comes into play.
  18. BWare

    Are you getting Vista?

We all are, if we're willing to be honest with ourselves I just got a copy in the mail. I'll let you know how it goes....

    Do Aliens Exist?

Oh man... are you SERIOUS? Not only is it logical, but it's probable that, even given a nearly infinite universe, the conditions necessary to replicate life won't EVER happen again. Hell, you can't even convince me that life on earth was an accident! The simple fact is that life is an obscenely complicated thing. Imagine if you will a gigantic scrapyard... hell, make it extend from where you're sitting around the entire planet. The entire thing is piled high with various pieces of scrap metal and raw materials. Now... imagine a massive hurricane tearing through that enourmous pile of metal. How many attempts would be necessary for that hurricane to produce out of those raw materials a fully functional 747, fueled and ready for takeoff? Similarly, how many attempts would you require to type trillions of 1s and 0s to create your own copy of Windows Vista? Even given infinite attempts, these events are SO unlikely that they will NEVER happen. Now life is even MORE of a longshot than this... and these scenarios assume that all the raw materials are there (a "primordial soup", if you will)! Any mathematician will tell you that there's a point where a possibility is SO remote that it's essentially impossible (ie, will NEVER happen). The odds of even the simplest building blocks of life popping out of chaos pass this threshold by several factors of ten. Oh, and Tree... could you please state your point of view without accusing any dissenters of arrogance? Thanks.

    CNCNZ Confessions

Yes he did. This is a simple fact, Fenring. You understand that, right? Even in a debate (though you're apparently only capable of yelling without listening), facts are indesputable. It's ironic that you picked, out of everything I wrote, something that can be backed up with a SIMPLE FACT. In 2004, George W. Bush was elected with a majority of the popular vote, a feat unaccomplished since the original George Bush 16 years ago. Call that BS if you will, but it's an undisputed FACT. Grow up. Thanks for that thoughful response Fenring. It's very well reasoned, and insightful to boot! Thank you for wasting our time. Ugh. If any grown ups want to discuss any of this seriously, I'm more than willing. I'd appreciate it if the angry loudmouths kept their distance though.....
