First off, I would like to say hi to everyone here. Anyway, I have logged probably 3 hours in C&C generals so far (skirmish), so I'm pretty new. My friend told me to buy this game, I am from another RTS game called Age of Mythology. I can beat 2 brutal AI's on the same team with the GLA. Then here comes the catch, I am inconsistent with beating 2 brutal AI's with China or America. Can I get some general tips with the game?

Sometimes I use a hijacker(stealth general) to hijack say a laser tank, then when the laser tank gets destroyed (the tank never had power to move since u were GLA) the hijacker pops back out!. But when I hijack a bulldozer, and the dozer is killed, the hijacker dies with it. Does anyone know the rules of when a hijacker can be "reused" and when they just plain die? In my last game even though I was dieing, i took out like 6 laser tanks with 2 hijackers as the stealth general, until the enemy finally brought in snipers. I only had one building left at the time, the barrack that produced the 2 hijackers.

If you put the infantry general's assault transports in a bunkered helix, will they be able to shoot out of them and detect stealth?

The computer does run out of cash. If you ever park a commanche early enough into a computer's chinese base, and keep killing the supply trucks, he/she will eventually not be able to make anything for the rest of the game because they are out of cash, sometimes the one gattling tank they are able to make won't even attack you commanche. So no, the computer does not "forget" about how much cash it has.

Yeh, it just happened to me today, I thought my firebases would take care of her when she stopped to do one of her moves, but she didn't stop... she just started capping my barrack while running and I was like wth, then I had to chase after her with a sniper, but she capped it anyway. The computer does cheat, I guess this is one of them.

Even the computer isn't so stupid to pack too many tanks together. Bleh, I do it sometimes cause I'm lazy, we just aren't as omnescient as computers, but we can beat em =D

The Alpha CAN be taken out before it reaches it's target, just not practically, when in supersonic, if there is an Alpha behind, and an EMP patriot tries to shoot the first one, the one in the back gets emp'ed outta the sky. So you just don't send in Alpha's in tandem, and it won't happen. All superweapons can down aircraft, as well as the Fuel Air bomb (not the mini-fuel bomb the alpha carries of course). O yeh, did anyone ever witness a dead plane carcass circling you for a whole game? I killed an Aurora with quad cannons and it never crashed the rest of the game, it just circled there, an empty plane carcass... kinda creepy.

When playing against the hard computer and most online opponents they have anti-air guarding the siege, and I'm talking about the bullet and laser type AA... anyway, I found that if I micro my alpha aurora's a bit more and use force fire, I can take out more targets in a go, so that has helped greatly in getting Aurora's back alive. I'll give EMP patriots a better go as well. BTW, since the 1.04 patch can you still do that scud storm thing where you can fire a missile or 3, stop the rest, and fire at another target?

^Omg LOL! The SuperWeapon general is definately about the Aurora's, I have nerve to say that her Partical Cannon comes in second compared to them =P. It's just that even though this general stresses base defenses, she really doesn't have good base defenses at all. Any unit that can outrange her EMP patriots/Firebases (Rocket buggies, Scud Launcers, Inferno Cannons, Nuke Cannons, Tomahawks) can just utterly destroy you while completely safe. Any attempt to send in an Aurora to take them out is futile as all siege is cheaper than the Alpha Aurora and the enemy WILL be able to shoot it down since they will have anti-air guarding their siege since you were using aircraft so much. Btw, the plan that shows the alternative attack route will only help a little, as on the way back, they would still have to fly over AA vehicles in the field in "sluggish" mode, and taking out enemy AA in the field is stupid, the Aurora will not hit mobile AA vehicles that are moving... Unless you have that much micro that you lead your bomb for every target, and even then, there are enough AA units/vehicles to take you down because you blast didn't get every one...

Vanilla SW are not shown. Anyway, I finally got Zero Hour. So the superweapon thing is no longer a problem, as they just show you it when it is built... The Black Lotus comment, it's often impossible to get the black lotus to the SW. Think of against US... Spy Drones, Raptors to kill you the sec you start capping, scout drones... it is not happening. -

That is not always an option. What I mean is for example, for America, you can see the whole map, find the SW, then A 10 and fuel air bomb it at the same time. You might lose an A 10, but the SW is definately dead, and it took little effort to do it or you can partical beam it then A-10 it. For GLA, you can anthrax a part of their base and rebel drop the SW to cap it. With china.... you can't even see the SW sometimes. -

How do u stop super weapons as China, I have trouble finding them, and then once you find them, how the hell are you supposed to take them out? Will a level 3 arty and 4 migs take one out? Does mining SW before artying it do more damage? Still, how the hell do I find it in the first place. Black Lotus doesn't always do the job. The SW problem is especially troublesome vs the US, where their spy drones prevent my Black Lotus. They also have a slimmer superweapon that makes arty less effective. Also their superweapon charges up in 4 minutes flat. I have tried using an EMP to knock out some defences and charge in 7 troop crawlers to capture their SW, but this only works sometimes. 4 minutes is not alot of time to prepare. Also 7 troop crawlers are massively expensive. Still better than getting a whole army lasered away but still... -

How in the world does china have the best secondary resources gatherers? Hackers give you about $5 every 3 seconds, and they are weak as hell, they die so easily, it takes 6 minutes alone to recoupe their cost!. IMO their only role is to disable buildings, they are a joke (in vannilla) when it comes to using them as a source of income. I DO NOT HAVE ZERO HOUR so don't refer to internet centers which in no way affects my current situation. I'd say the US have it best when it comes to late game money, then GLA, and then China in last. Thanks Madbadger for the outline. -

I switched back to the GLA because I am plain tired of having no money late game. I'm playing 3v1 brutal comp now, I use terrorists and technicals whenever I have micro to spare. I love terrorists, but are they worth using? After all, 5 terrorists + 1 technical = $1500. The combo is very inconsistent in how much damage it does. Is it smarter to use terrorists against buildings or units if both are equally close? How many terroists does it take out each type of building? Can someone link me a table for different healths of units/buildings and how much damage terrorists do? (and bomb trucks) -

I tried those massed upgraded hummers, they sure are fun. I love the GLA mobs, they are like walls for you city lol. Is there anything for the GLA to spam that have no direct counters? I tried the quad cannon spam, that didn't work so well against tanks. I tired the veteran technical spam, also didn't work well against tanks. The rocket buggies don't do well vs anything, they just serve as a great hit-and-run platform. I didn't try the Toxin truck spam but I doubt they would do well vs anything besides infantry. I'm not even going to consider producing Scud Lauchers in large quanities. How does a rebel spam fare? On a side note, how do you destroy enemy superweapons as GLA? It is intensly frustrating to deal with them. The thing I loved about the USA was that a level 2 A-10 airstrike and a fuel bomb alone could take out a superweapon. Then the partical canon was also a great anti-superweapon weapon. Then you also had aurora bombers, in short, a superweapon against USA isn't a threat. The chinese can EMP the superweapon/defences, give themselves a 30 second window where the enemy is near-defenseless, and wail on it with 4 migs and a level 3 arty strike. As the GLA it is hard enough to find the stupid weapon alone with radar trucks. Then once you do what do you do? A level 3 rebel strike fallowed by an anthrax bomb still doesn't take it out. You have no planes for a fallow-up, nothing to nuetralize defences temperarily... superweapons vs the GLA seem like a death-sentence. The only thing I found that works is to deploy a rebel ambush to distract defences while 6 technicals filled with terrorists suicide into the enemy base along with the anthrax plane. There are faults to this plan, the biggest being cost, 3 great general powers + the enormous costs of making 6 technicals and 18 freakin terrorists. This also takes alot of time to setup, sometimes I can't make the deadline, and the few times it was successful, they were close calls (last time I took out the enemy scud storm with a level 3 rebel ambush, fallowed my an antrax bomb that barely made it and my own scud storm that took it out while the missles raised up and prepared to launch, one missle did make it off the launch pad). Then the anthrax plane can be shot down if the rebels didn't draw enough fire or survive long enough, then not enough of those terrorists may make it. If the munuever fails, it's game over. Then what do you do when you have to take out 2 superweapons with a 4 minute warning... -

I have the original, no avengers, so the only real mobile anti air I have are Rocket Soldiers. I now build my war factory first and make crusaders along with my Rockets Soldiers so I have Anti Air, anti tank, and anti anti infantry covered. I still need anti infantry thou... Btw, will the scout drones on vehicles detect cloaked units such as Jarmen Kell, snipers, Black Lotus, Ect.? What should I use for anti infantry? Are Humvees really that great against infantry, cause from I see they get massecred by everything and seem weak at their role. Would battle drones on almost every vehicle do the job? (This is before I have access to snipers) -

Wow thanks, but I really do suck that bad, and I'm playing many other games more than Generals, (original). I'll just train vs brutal comp for now. I'll send you an invite when I feel I'm ready. Only 2 trucks for china? I usually make 4. And GLA? I make like hordes of em. Doesn't more mean faster gathering? Should I build Airfield first or War Factory, or does it depend on civ I'm versing? (Usa) -

Thanks for the reply. I gotten better over the days, but I never-the-less stink. I use USA now, mostly for their LOS ability and their anti-super weapon powers. I'm mostly an infantry/aircraft person, even though my friend insists that I should build my war factory first/use more tanks. Is he really right? The reason I build my airfield first is because it is 1000 cash cheaper, and the Chopper is a great raiding tool, especially with the USA spy satelite and spy drone scouting out the enemy for me. Alot of times I don't ever build the war factory the entire game prefering to spend the money on other things. Are tanks really so crucial to my ability to get better as USA? -

Wow I have a long way to go. Is there any specific tips for GLA (without xpack), I usually make 4 tunnel networks around my base and scorp spam with quad cannons mixed in. I use technicals with terrorists for quick base assaults. How many workers should I have on a resource pile? With China I usually have 4 trucks, USA 2 gathering choppers, with GLA I have a dozen or so on a pile. Is that too much? Why? What is a good number to have? Would a second supply depot help? -

How many brutal AI's can people here beat? Just wanna see at what level I'm at right now. In reply to Lee: I do practice, but tips are still useful and speed up the process quite a bit. Btw, what are you? Korean, Chinese, Japanese? Or you just like the name? lol
