I wholeheartedly agree EALA, don't forget to add that next time!
-
Hey, you should have said RA3 is such a sweet game, don't forget where you are Ah, who am I kidding, I am longing to buy that game, if only to find out how Bethesda butchered Fallout Hopefully I'll get used to the combat and stiff animations.
-
Hm. I also could wipe the first base and take over the tower, respectively the observitory quite easily, but no units were enough to repel the attacks (Athena cannons, century bombers, hydrofoils, rocket troops, spies, guardian tanks, mirage tanks etc.) long enough, respectively to even scratch the other bases, and I used more VXes than you. Also tried multiple waveforce artilleries/towers. I'll try out garrisoning, perhaps that is going to give me an edge. It seems the enemy AI I encountered has an overly zealous commander
-
Disappointing.
-
How? There are Athena cannons, Apollo fighters, mirage tanks, hordes of rocket troops and IFVs, spectrum towers and guardian tanks. I have not enough cash to repel the attacks, let alone capture the media stations.
-
The Waveforce artillery is too fragile and expensive. And VXes aren't as useful as before either.
-
I'm quite saddened by some of the reviews (Professional and users alike) as well. Hope it still sells well though, albeit it does not look like it.
-
Regardless what I do, I can't take out the Allied bases with the exception of the lower right, which makes it impossible for me to capture the media stations.

Can anyone tell me how to beat Imperial mission 6?
-
I am at the 4th Imperial mission and I have to say, the map design and inventiveness of this game is made of epic win.
-
SAG engine 60% has been rewritten, btw, and I don't think the new name is official. Also, I do get a completely different vibe from RA3 than TW.
-
Perhaps, but the missions all start differently.
-
There are enough ingenious ideas in those missions that I always want to know what happens next, what location the game sends me to and which track is going to play.
-
Wow, reading this snip is like listening to my thoughts

It's not about bad reviews, it's about unjustified claims. But do tell us why you dislike RA3 For my money, it is at least as good as RA2, and that was the game which made me fall in love with CnC. Especially the music and map design is wonderful, but also the units and side diversity. Some neat FMV bits as well.

Frank Klepacki Comments on the RA3 Soundtrack
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
HM3 kicks HM2s ass any day. It's more diversified and sophisitcated. Grinder 2 however, has some overlong silent parts. Still very Soviet. -
Well you know me, I like to defend what I love Also, I seek justice. I don't want RA3 to fail solely because some are not getting the concept.

I already mailed him, but he did not write back yet.

Someone missing the point entirely again: http://reviews.teamxbox.com/xbox-360/1618/...Red-Alert-3/p1/

I noticed that the AI is like in UaW- Regardless of the difficulty setting, it's fluctuating in skill.
-
Yet, it's still met with bias and prejudice. Sure, there's no plot, yes the FMVs are short, but man, that music! Those varied and pretty levels! The imaginative units! The enjoyment and hilarity! But no, people cry for SupComs and CoHs, and do not realize that those gameplay mechanics would not fit CnC, and that it simply isn't just tank spam anymore. Anyway, I'm off now, it's 3.37 am here and I have to sleep. But first, I listen to the soundtrack CD Up until now I played RA3 and had a blast, even though before I was down due to inane opinions. And tomorrow I'm going to continue since the CnC-Files review does not write itself

Completed the Soviet campaign, and I had a ball playing it. Incredulously entertaining campaign, great maps, astonishing music. RA how it is supposed to be.
-
RA3. Magnificent.

This game is getting better and better with every minute. The locales and soundtrack are extremely diverse, and the gameplay is immensely enjoyable. I'm up to Soviet mission 5 and loving it so far. Had two CTDs though, which is a tad depressing. Luckily the game saves often enough.

I'm a bit interested in it, considering the setting, graphics and gameplay remind me of WiC.
