Hyrofoil--->Pure awsomeness. I see this turning into an iconic Allied unit...along with almost any other unit EA added
-
Renegade isn't even a CnC game for genre reasons in my eyes, rather a spinoff. I never was much into Renegade due to the design, even though the gameplay was revolutionary.

After having played the space stage I have to admit that ultimately, I'm quite satisfied with the game, the sheer scale of it is epic, thinking how you evolved from a cell to a full-blown, conquering civilization. It's really quite mesmerizing. Thus, I have to agree with the statement that the stages separately, while enjoyable and creative, are somewhat lacklustre and repetitive, it's a rather dazzling package alltogether, alas.

The british accents annoy you? You know that EALA is an American studio, right? And that they're only in there because they wanted to make clear that the Allies aren't just Americans? Also, I prefer real actors over CGI, sorry. Everything else would not be CnC. I agree though that they could shoot decent films instead of deliberately campy ones. With CnC4.

Easily the KW Titan (Because mechs rawk) and the Mammoth tank (Iconic CnC unit, huge tank). Runners-up would be the Shatterer (Splash damage), the stealth tank (Rate of fire, effectiveness) and the mechapede (Animation, idea). Am I allowed to post favourite units from the RA universe as well?

Sonic, you don't even have to spill the beans, because every forumgoer nows: The Eotrs avatar in question is the campaign-only red King Oni. Or at least, that's what they think it is Now, what that Allied mask is remains in the dark...

Sorry, but I have to disagree. CnC videos were never professional. The set/prop/costume design was always low-cost (Though high production values for a game), the dialogue was always cheesy ("Let's kick some ass"), and the acting always campy (""I am not your pet Mister President"). I agree that previous CnCs had a more serious approach in the big picture, RA and TD the least, but putting RA3 FMVs, even in excerpts, next to TW movies is a gargantual step up, be it set/costume design, lighting or direction, and on par with the likes of RA2. And there's nothing wrong with most of the acting either, especially Corry and Stormare are adorable. Imho. As a huge RA2 fan.

Some great ones in there.

It's not the lack of innovation that brings down Spore, it's the lack of solid and engaging gameplay. Btw: Sims? Innovation par excellence. Building houses especially is a feat.
-
It's CnC3 with infinite, yet limited ore nodes, free-of-charge secondary abilities/support powers, 3-tier-upgrades, a very strict hard counter system, different build mechanics/2 superweapons for each side, navy, height boni, units with two distinct abilities, force composition, micro, high unit mortality, single infantry...oh wait, that means it's not like TW, my bad And I only discussed gameplay... And Endwar? Seriously? WiC in a modern setting, in my opinion. Alright, I guess, but as simplicistic as one can get.

What was the issue?

RA3 Unit Profile - EoTRS Shogun Battleship

I like the unit, but I digress, there could have been a different type of weapon involved. -
Spore, but the sudden and random crashes annoy me...

Racoon I'm not quite in love with Jenny either, but having Gemma, everything else is insignificant anyway

You mean SecuROM? CnC3 came with it too, as do/did/will many games. Also, it does not need an active connection after you activated it. -

I don't want to see RA3 fail, tbh. The devs would not deserve it, the game would not deserve it, and the franchise would not either. -
I love you! Swat 4 is indeed super-sweet, the best tactical FPS ever made, imho! Btw, Saracen: Got Spore today! (Lent it from a friend) I'll give it a spin in the next days, curious how I'll like it. Edit: Meh. Collection of minigames, boring, confusing, empty. Graphics are poor. It's kind of cute and creative though, but still. Meh. Does anyone know wheter the EA download manager is needed? Since my little brother installed it, and I don't like any redundant program on my system. Edit: Re-started the game as herbivore. Now that I know what I'm in for it's slightly more enjoyable. As harbivore, the game plays easier, too.

I knew from the beginning that this game will be innovative, but lack the basic gameplay.

It's-a out-a.

Chris Corry Comments on RA3's Copy Protection
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
It does not deter piracy, I never said that. However, what most of you don't get, that actually, according to any games EULA, you don't have the right to do anything you want with the game. You only buy a license for one simulteanous install on one PC. That's all you get. I understand that people should speak up, but their way of speaking up (Denying purchase, downloading a pirated copy) would hurt the CnC franchise and the devs who put hard work into their product. -

Imho, people tend to exaggerate. I understand if someone ran into problems before and therefore is scarred for life, but if You just refuse to purchase a game with DRM out of principle, that's ignorance. If you think about it, legally, you're only allowed to install a software once at one computer simulteanously anyway, that's what the license you purchase grants you. By buying it, it's not your game. But somehow everyone seems to think that. -

Yeah, I mean, why should EALA be punished for measures neccessary against pirates? It's not like they have a choice in EAs decision. And just because bloodhounds do not work against thieves, does not mean you should put the dogs to sleep. -
