How do you know?
-
RA2 was pretty fast as well. And RA3 slowed down the pace of CnC3 a bit.
-
I've changed it to units to clarify. As far as I understood the babelfish translation, the deployment is necessary for every unit. As for balance issues, we'll have a beta.
-
It is a brand new game- the gameplay sounds revolutionary.
-
OFF Lighting, water effects, weapon effects, colours, textures... Looking at these screens I'm reminded of the awsomeness that is RA3. Might have to reinstall it again.
-
I heart the crawler. As Cypher adequately put it, it's the ultimate MCV.
-
Well, to be honest, both icons look almost the same, so I'd take the CnCSaga article and its translation with a grain of salt.
-
Looks very cartoonish. But Tiberium looks good, as do the flames. Sonic: I doubt it because it portrays the new Flame tank.
-
That's absolutely true. Also, jarzka is a jackass gben: Perhaps with CnC3, but there were huuuge changes from the early and final screens with RA3. And yes, those are shields. They are deployed when they stand still.
-
Just look how short the Apoc tanks in the background look- much shorter than they really are, imho.
-
Well, the crawlers are supposed to be class-specific, so they might be visually different as well. Also, the Epic Units just were big, they weren't very well designed. These crawlers are even bigger and clunkier, so what's not to love?
-
That I know- but is a bottom bar less serious? Funny, even?
-
Please leave the unbacked generalisations out, please. Thanks.

Bwaha, tell me Silverthorn, what has the UI have to do with seriousness? If anything, the new UI looks far more militaristic and simplistic than before, which in return means it's more realistic and serious.
-
I have to note that that screenshot is heavily zoomed in, since it's just a part of the full page. I'd also like to note that due to SAGE's weird FOV, units can seem distorted when not viewed from the correct angles. Happened to the RA3 Apoc tank very often.
-
Well, what do you think these arrows are for on all the little UI windows?

Because many longed for a classical CnC after Generals, including reviewers.
-
There was progressive transition from TW to RA3, yet still many reviewers and fans found the gameplay mechanics obsolete. And since SCII already will be released with the hardcore community in mind, EA had to change to compete.

The problem with the control points isn't their abundance, but their dullness.

Weren't there snow terrains in TS?

C&C4's Net Connection Violates Gamer's Bill of Rights
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
"Rule" 1 and 10 are pretty moronic though- There are many people who don't look out for their PCs, resulting in crashing/faulting games- Why should the devs pay for their mistakes? And not having to have a DVD in the drive is pushing it too far- that's like taking the whole hand when a finger's offered, and that's pretty much what's wrong with today's society. Now that they mentioned it, why do I have to have the DVD in the tray when I want to watch Nip/Tuck?! I'm too lazy! Why should I have to swap discs?! God damn Hollywood forcing me to such unnecessary action! Give me a break... Apart from that, yeah. Problem is, EA has to protect their IPs somehow, and PC games aren't destined to work flawlessly on every machine. Heck, nowadays even console games need patches! Publix666: You can still play CnC online onwards from at least RA2, an 8 year old game, so I doubt that's going to be the case. -
I already made that suggestion at the off. boards and directly to Apoc, hopefully it will achieve something, since that would be a win/win situation.
-
At the end it kind of fell apart with the guitar solo, but still decent stuff. Good video too, CnC is iconic. Prefer the original track, though. It also contains a great lesson for EA: The CGI should show battles, not one-sided shooting demonstrations.

In WiC, you don't produce units, they're flown in at the start of the game. In CnC4, you produce them.
