Amazing. TD is still the best CnC (With RA2/3 coming close), and the amount of detail is staggering! Can't wait to see this in action, and I hope it won't trash the main game as most of the mods I played did for me.

EALA Looking For Art Director For New FPS Project
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I guess they wanted their own thing. Or perhaps because it failed in the eyes of the wide audience as well as financially. Not to mention that the general idea (Vehicles) would have just seemed like a copy after Battlefield came out, even though Renegade had them first. Disagree however on the Republic Commander analogy. RC was one squad, and was more character- not to mention action-oriented. Tiberium would have been more tactical, focusing more on key figures instead of your squadmates. SWAT4 or especially Ghost Recon would fit the description more, control over 1 squad aside, but Tiberium still would have had two things going for it: 1) Indirect control even over vehicles and planes 2)Flexible controls including sliding, first-person cover and a quite intriguing aiming mode. Shame they wasted time and money on the title without making too much progress, since what I've seen from the game was fascinating. Little bit bland, a tad generic, but charming nonetheless. Oh and I agree that RA3--->Win. Except for the pathfinding, which is epic fail. Units, music, map design and attention to detail though, top-notch stuff and genre-leading since WCIII. I'm very curious what EALA is up to next, as well as how SCII will turn out. -

I'm talking SP here. In that respect, it was mediocre. MP though, yeah, Renegade was revolutionary. -

MoHAA is still one of the best FPS' around. Everything following it? Not so much. -
The story was good imho, and most of the changes can be easily explained, the problem is that they didn't provide one for every change and that the universe lost a bit of charme in the process- a little bit more generic now. I still like to play it from time to time though, since the gameplay is solied enough and the graphics quite pleasing.

CNCNZ.com Roundtable #19 - C&C Modding Special
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I guess he was upset about how you made judgement without knowing the experiences of the participants with the RA3 ModSDK for certain, thus questioning the integrity of the individuals and the roundtable as a whole. Btw, he didn't really treat you in an unfriendly demeanour, so where's your issue? I'll just add that I was certain about smurfbizkit finding some space for a little EALA bashing Which I do not share. -
Heh, I just played a skirmish with the Scrin. Luv the mothership and sound effects. Still, a little bit dull compared to RA3.

Oy im none of those two, so the article certainly contains some interesting points for you Respect my authorita and read it, you'll see

You mean the Uprising review? That's the problem- there is more than one site who'd like to publish it, and my hands are tied until the decision is made.

http://forums.commandandconquer.com/jforum...list/13871.page Btw, they're rather WW fanboys Quite depressing, really.
-
Thanks, the EA forum users just flamed me for disliking TS' Tb lifeforms and didn't even continue after the first sentence... As for the Uprising review, I have to ask Duke about that.
-
Yeah, TW is pretty generic. Good looking, but generic.
-
I'm not "wrong" about anything It's just my opinion. My issue with TS was the general 80s sci-fi vibe which was neither attractive nor unique to me, and I still wait for a sequel that does TD justice. I always found the economy and politics behind Tiberium, GDI and Nod to be the most intriguing about the series, and no instalment after TD really lived up to that.
-
Btw, I distilled my thoughts on TW's failures into this article.
-
WW had their own execs, most game-related decisions weren't made by EA. Like TS has't been rushed because of them. It could have, but it was still quite different from RA1.
-
Objection! Westwood Pacific already severed the ties with RA2. And to be honest, I prefer it stayed this way. Isgreen's explanation would have been tacky. And yes, RA3 has some minor issues (Length, "story", pathfinding, talkative FMVs), but it's almost close to perfection.
-
Objection! The new GDI/Nod logos were created by Westwood themselves. As for the article, I agree with almost everything, but find it's release a bit late- Now it's only causing bad blood whilst EA corrected many of their mistakes with RA3.

More Rumours About the Next Command & Conquer Game

Imho it sounds like a post-match loss song, and I dig it as such. Also, it has the vibe of a professional movie score, and there's nothing wrong with that. -

I like it. Nothing breathtaking, but nice and fitting ambience. -

Perhaps silly, but a cool song That's the only reason I posted it at CnCF, I don't cover common rumours. -

Jorge removed CnC4s entry, so I think we've got a possible candidate. Problem is, CnC: Arena is a possibility as well, and check out this: http://commandandconquer.filefront.com/new..._surfaced;42078 -

Red Alert 3 Uprising Review at Strategy Informer
hagren replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Yeah...no. Most reviews whined about imbalances and the missing online mode, but what did they expect from a 20 dollar, stand-alone single-player-only expansion? For your information, it has been well received by the CnC community. And that's far more significant to me than so-called professional reviews. But if you do care about them, you should take a look at the metacritic scores of past EALA CnCs and realize that they have been very well received. CnC is far from ruined and still of high quality, regardless how you dear anti-EA WW fanboys put it. -
How do you know it's an FPS?

I should not have read that thread. Urgh.
