Is it me, or is the PC games industry hitting a solid brick wall at the moment... good quality games and their releases are in my opinion few and far between this year. We've had Far Cry, Unreal 2004 and er, erm, hmmmm er, yeah... that's really about it to be honest. Half life 2 should be out in September / October time, but i don't think the summer for games looks too bright... I hear Ground control 2: Operation Exodus is being released, but i didn't think much of it playing the demo, another boring non-ground breaking RTS that's the same as everything out there.... I think we will have to wait for 2005 before we see any promise..... I'm sure by then we'll have Counterstrike 3 nearing completion, C&C 3: Tiberian Twighlight, and a whole host of potential classics on their way, but I'm sure this year isn't the year for PC games.. or am I wrong? So is there light at the end of the tunnel? or is 2004 gonna be a year which hasn't seen much action for the PC games market?

we are shadows of our former selves since the world cup, alot of players have sort of retired from the england team and been replaced with fresh new talent..... I must admit the game was good... if frustrating, but very impressive play from new zealand... they always have great grit and determination and that showed up well... In a way i hope new lealand stay like that and win the next world cup.... an england V new zealand final..... but being the patriot i am.... we'll get our revenge and if that final comes in under 4 years time.... I'm sorry but you aint having our trophy :lol:

:lol: oh that's a funny list! i recognise 4 people on there and i've beat them all :lol: I must admit the constant barrage of shots to their head with my standard machine gun got a bit frustrating, but they did die in the end.. These people i've played are crap though, i can out manouvre their asses quite easily! But saying that i did come across a sniper once who kept shooting me through objects that you wouldn't be able to shoot through, and it pissed me right off no end! so i eventually sneaked behind him with my rifle, and it took 3 sniper hits to the head to kill him lol, but i did it..... He then left :lol:

To be honest in my opinion, i do think that we will see a hell of a lot of annouincements for new games in the final quarter of this year and i certainly expect to hear a C&C title in there, no doubt, i'm totally confident in that.. Remember Rogue Leader, C&C is 10 years old next year!!! Why dump and kill such a successful series of games and it's brand name on it's decade anniversary? we'd all be up in arms, the community wouldn't allow it.. I just think that Harvard Bonin has an extremely exciting suprise for us to celebrate 10 years of C&C and I'm so sure in it... But for those who did love Need for Speed Underground... the sequal is in development, so expect to see it earliest in december, but i'd say feb/march 2005 might be more realistic... I have a PS2 yeah, but i'm not talking in terms of the whole games industry.... just our known and loved PC development teams... where they at? Hopefully coding and testing some killer games for next year :wink:

OK I'll start off..... Not the most exciting start, but i'm sort of unemployed/ working for an agency... they are pathetic i must admit. No work one moment, then a days work, no work for a week, then a full week's work.... I'm being messed around and hate it. The agency like most here in the UK specialises in warehouse work, some of which is quite good, others more like they are ran by power hungry managers who love to boss people around. But i am job hunting and will not give up. Ideally my dream job, or a job i'd be happy to do most of my life (watch the contrast in jobs here) :lol: That's to name a few which i believe are achievable in life... everybody would like to be a games tester or a porn star but it aint gonna happen... so lets have reasonable job prospects please :lol:

Looking at a few Half life 2 previews and came across this.... And no doubt that the idea for vehicles in a FPS game had come from Renegade itself.... Not Halo! I don't care what anyone says Halo did not start that one off!! In fact OK the concept is not new it was picked upon before renegade, but where Renegade pioneered the free roaming of it all, Halo... well... ha, that only picked up where it left off... I hear that Unreal Tournament 2004 has vehicles in too.... ya see, despite crap scores in some parts of the world, Renegade has made a difference... (This is not a Renegade related post.... just a rant )

I'd love to know why..... my connection is fine and dandy... hmm So what if i'm wrong.... in my eyes renegade was 100 times better than tribes anyday of the week

OK, but really that never had half as much popularity around the world as Renegade did, and if FPS coined onto tribes 2 then the concept of vehicles would have been around alot sooner meaning the unreals, and others like it would have had beaten Renegade to it..

modding NO... The Modded Yes.... I love mod's but it's so hard to find a decent one these days as far as Renegade goes it's Reborn and Renegade Alert! The only 2 I'd touch on Generals is Blitzkreig 2 and that other one that's blitzing out loadsa screenshots at the moment, it's on the newspage if u dunno what i mean!

I take it you are not a massive fan of Steps, hearsay, girls aloud, spice girls, all saints, and all those other teenie pop bands? I'm not dunno about you... can't stand anything else unless it's in the rock/metal genre's of music, usually the heavier the better

It's not all rap some of it is good quality rock music too and although i despise rap and prefer the rock/Metal genre of music i found that all the music including the odd drum n' base' & dance as well made quite a good selection overall

Let me make this clear that actually Saddam was a bastard no doubt about that, he is as bad as the Coalition made him out to be. How can you get angry when you say that the Iraqi forces wouldn't kill their own civilians? Saddam has made sure that's happened for years! That is 100% fact! Civilians have been gassed, tortured, shot, and has biological weapons used against them. The reason why these "so-called" weapons of mass destruction couldn't be found is that either: 1) The are hidden out in the iraqi deserts in a place that cannot found, and i'm talking huge stockpiles (About 10 have been found since the war ended, containing basic chemical and biological weapons of some grade, although most weapons have been emptied) 2) Have been destroyed or decommissioned. 3) Have been exported to other middle east countries & or terrorist organisinations. How come when the weapons inspectors arrived in iraq before the war, the Iraqi's were extremely un-cooperative with them, they were hiding these weapons alright. Don't believe everything you read in the papers or hear in the news. Believe me when you talk about September 11th, that is one huge conspiracy and is full of lies and red tape. The plan heading for washington was not crash landed in a field.... it was shot down, reports of that were clear on the day that a squadron of F-15's were scrambled to intercept that plane. Those reports were quickly dismissed despite the fact that we were all told the truth within minutes of it happening! Saddam is every cursing swear word under in the dictionary. He has had pacts with terrorists and terrorist countries including Osama Bin Laden (explain the suicide bombings in iraq now?) and the palastinians.. as well as countries like Lybia and Iran (who are consequently known to be building a nuclear weapon despite not having any access to the materials a month before the Iraqi war... During the cold war, Russians used to carry round briefcase nuke bombs, there were only 25 ever made. 7 were decommisioned and destroyed, 18 are missing... am i making you see sense here.... terrorism is bigger than most of the world realise. Because on average at least 10 terror attacks on target countries are planned every day... The intelligence services know about 95% of these planned cases. It just takes that 5% to really scare the crap out of everyone.

Since the game has gone far enough already to the point of suicide bombers, why don't they just stick a civilian airport on every map or some sort of flying club, send a terror bomber into it and either crop dust like has been said or hijack a passenger airline and have it crash into a structure... OK you can flame me on that if you want but Generals aint exactly Politically Correct now is it. Something like that would not make a blind bit of difference.

Nah i was just bragging how unbelievably crap most of my Renegade Clan were, all but 2 i think were no hopers who using the word n00b doesn't come even close. Basically they played like a large steaming pile of s**t! :lol:

I had 36 players for my clan across 3 teams in my Generals clan, and had a crackingly excellent and elite team of 8 in my Renegade team... Problem was that they were so damn disorganised, didn't follow my orders and i was running around doing all the bloody work!!!!

Talk about a blatent spin off from the Dune & C&C games topics :roll: I'm sorry, but although they are all real songs, you cannot beat what i believe to be the best soundtrack on a game ever! Crack open Need for speed: underground..... the music on that rocks and suits the game perfectly by creating a mood that even Micheal Schumacher would be pleased to race to! Oh NFS: underground 2 is in development and promises an even more wicked soundtrack!

well erm... rest in peace :roll: I don't treat Generals as a 3D RTS in that sense I mean that i don't change the zoom and i don't pan the camera angle round to any other way other than what i'm given in the start. Although i know you can do it, i just don't use it, in a way I'm stuck in the past by treating it as a 2D C&C game by thinking there are no camera controls. As in matrix philosophy from this message apllied to C&C Generals: :lol:

There are only 2 actors that get my vote, and this is because they've given so much to hollywood with their excellent acting skills and performances that make them to be excellent parts in what they are playing. And the awards go to...... Robert Di Nero & Al Pacino

What about the future OK we have this LOTR RTS, which I think EA stole the idea from modders. But when are we gonna have an announcement of another C&C game and some screeenies? Because the longer we wait the more we actually live in the past.... it's a theoretical foundation i am certain to have clarified?
