Oh here we go again. Given 12 months of this fine Georgian calendar, I'm guessing you'll have 1,980 threads. Each congratulating people's birthdays, and you'll probably go well out of your way to wish yourself a happy birthday! There's a birthday thread a good few pages back, why don't you bump that instead!? Anyway HB to TSH.

On the subject of "proudly presents"... I'm quite glad such words have been shown. You can actually tell with this game that there is a pride with this game... the quality, the finer details, the acting.... the fact they've strived hard to get a decent music team together... the whole thing is there to try and impress me! No but seriously I'd say this is really the first C&C where they're gonna nail pretty much everything. But no game is perfect. As for other things, Hell March 3 isn't bad. I believe it takes the best of the 2 previous versions and mixes it up into the best package yet. But as Sonic said, if it ain't broke, why fix it? I think if Frank attempted to mess with the formula too much, there would be someone out there who will complain Frank has gone soft, become an EA peon etc. which is a load of bull.... but it probably would happen. In fact I think no matter what Hell March 3 sounded like, a core amount of people were gonna moan about it. I'm happy with the outcome though.

To be honest everything you'd need to know is on his website. I don't have the time or care to write anything long winded out at the moment, otherwise I would. I'm quite passionate about this project and I strongly believe in his long term goals. Indeed there's a huge barrier in the way. But I really do admire the guy for taking his knowledge and experiences in life to determine how humanity should move forward for the greater good. But right now I have offline commitments over the next 7 days which are of more pressing concern. *sigh*

I like the way GTTV says Friday nights at 1AM.... there's no logic to that. If it's Friday, and it's 1AM, it should have already of been broadcast on Spike TV. Really it's Saturday morning at 1AM.... I wondered why I was getting really excited for nothing Still... those videos were interesting... but I think we know the Soviet Geneva mission inside out from beginning to end now... It's been milked like a fat cow, and beaten like a dead horse enough already!

GameStop's Exclusive Red Alert 3 Skirmish Map
Saracen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Ha! This is inspiring... I can imagine a scenario... EA need to release a single player map with this mission briefing: That would be so cool.. Apoc if you're reading this... I called it! -
The ideal of social engineering and releasing society from the capitalist monetary system into a resource based economy is no cult Mina. You need to stop chucking the word "cult" into every theorem or social agenda that opposes the Status Quo! Fresco's vision is one for the future where we will be free of debt, poverty, social slavery and the need to burn fossil fuels, and pollute the environment we live in. Instead our survival and purpose will be one with nature. Utilising Solar power, wind power wave and tidal energy and the primary use of Geothermal Energy. Such a vision is seen as an alternative to the possibility of violent social revolution through typical anarchist manifestos. Instead what is done here, is to create a society that embraces and uses technology, not people, to run a society, do mundane jobs and build a better future. It's not utopia and it's not perfect. But in theory it's a hell of a lot better than what Democracy, capitalism, and monetary-ism claims to bring to society. Jacque Fresco is a man who, all his life has strived to solve problems through science and inventive thought. He and many hundreds of thousands of people believe that applying science to society in this manner is the key to a truly free society and a prosperous world. Free from global warming, war, famine and the need for greed, corruption and false pre-tense. This is a trailer to a film I watched a short while ago. The film is truly inspiring, and even my wife, whom of which holds no belief of my own can see the potential this vision brings. Jacque Fresco is simply known as a Leonardo Da Vinci of our time. He calls this vision, The Venus Project. From The Venus Project website..

If you watched the video you would know lol... doesn't take a rocket scientist to work it out It's my fault though for that censored word. I pretty much set up 75% of the forum word censor. I forgot that was one of them!

ideally it's not best to let out your personal life on the net. But I'll let this one slide for now... After all by saying that, you're the one doing damage to your credibility, so that's your choice.

Nope, this time it's a 10% warning level increase!

The Japanese have always been a curious and rather unusual culture like no other on the planet. The reality is, given that they have been under US control for so long now, they could have been a superpower with a force more powerful and more advanced than the United States. All it took was 2 atomic bombs to upset that balance and cripple Japan militarily. But since in this never happened in the time dimension of Red Alert 3, this high advancement of technology I believe, is the result of an unchecked nation.

Red October RA2 Collector's Edition Wallpaper Contest
Saracen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I imagine once Red Alert 3 kicks in we'll have many forms of Franchise like mugs, T-shirts, posters etc. There's always a dark horse "collectable" somewhere as well. Like for C&C 3, it was Kane's "Nod Ring". A great rarity in many ways given that they were mass produced. But some people have got hold of one -
Instead of calling it straight out an ore collector. EA should have thought just a little and called this a Scarab as a code name. Scarabs are collectively known to collect dung balls, and transport it back to their nest so they can feed or live on their collection. Plus looking at this collector it's beetle shape in design, and we all know Beetles have protective armour coatings, so it just makes sense! Furthermore the USSR used a short range tactical ballistic nuclear Missile called the SS-21. NATO named this weapon the Scarab. Since there are no nuclear weapons in Red Alert 3, this would have played a great testimony to the weapon. Oh well, I'm a sucker for details. I believe they add a cleverly hidden depth to games like C&C. But I'm not an EALA employee, am I?

Yeah, but your seemingly logical idea is no fun. It kinda ruins the guessing games that some of us like to envision. Although I wouldn't put it past EA that such a simple minded answer equates to their storytelling skill level... but I'm willing to give them a chance to be creative for once. After all I'm suprised that most "so-called" veterans haven't caused chaos, rioted, and burned down 90% of community forums over EA's decision to wipe the previous 2 Red Alert games from franchise History. But then again those who never complained about C&C 3's shortcomings could be given a colouring book and be entertained... Enough said really.

Because we know Soviet Russia Will destroy the Empire of the Rising Sun! Linked because apparently the video is no longer available!

Nah, I'm not inclined to follow some crazy scheme by an old man named Hubbard. I'm actually more inclined to follow another crazy old man by the name of Jacque Fresco.

I'm gonna have to cut back on the crap spam topics being made in this forum. There must be something legitimate and engaging to talk about rather than your damn role-playing inferiority complex shah! Topic Closed

New RA3 Character Profile - Emperor Yoshiro
Saracen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
I will be honest here. With George Takei's acting experience, I believe he will wipe the floor with the other actors. Afterall, he just has that ominous presence that no other actor or actress seems to have from what FMV's I have seen so far. In fact, the only actor who comes close is Peter Stomere. He appears to have that mad scientist part nailed really well, the facial expressions and body language he gives proves that. -
The Japs are a good 10 years in front of the rest of the world anyway when it comes to experimental technology. I mean they've already built real walking mechs! So given that the original Red Alert happens in the 60's and Red Alert 2 in the 70's... those get wiped... and no world war 2 & 3 occur since in Red Alert 3, none of the previous Red Alert wars took place. For Japan to reach that height of technological advancement, we'd have to say that Red Alert 3 and the new World War 2 happens somewhere in between 1985 and 1995. In theory the Soviet jump through time was at a point between Einstein developing the Chronosphere and taking out Hitler, and the first Red Alert war taking place. Which would mean Stalin never attacked Europe because the weapons were not there for the Soviet Union to exploit. Since Japan never entered the Red Alert wars (because of their non existance in this new dimension).. we'd have to presume that they were more free than they are in real life to spend that funding on an excessive War machine and higher technological growth. Which arguably would state therefore that they would actually be 20-30 years ahead of current technology. So while the Allies are in the realm of 80's-90's tech, the soviets still struggle on the same tech from the 60's & 70's... while Japan is actually in a technological age of about 2020-25! Which is why their futuristic realm exists.... No time travel involved

Such words are a severe crime worse than mass murder! You must be a Scientology sympathiser! Such sins against humanity will not go un-noticed. You must therefore suffer a fate worse than death... A masked Shah strip tease!

What you forget my friend is that this isn't the "Tiberian" Saga. Such a series requires that attention to detail. There's canon to consider and a serious attention to a detailed, well developed story. Red Alert is different. It's purposely built to be messed around with to suit the universe as the writers see fit. That's the glory of Time travel, it doesn't have to make sense, so long as it makes sense if you see what I mean. One Avenue I would like to see explored which Yuri's revenge touched upon was forward time travel. A nice little paradox which looks at having to save the future in order to dictate the present. After Red Alert 3, we've gone backwards enough.. let's see what the crazy weapons of the future will bring... The potential for innovation would be rife ya?

I put the Soviet battle theme as a ringtone on my Blackberry last night... coupled with a Red Alert background and a solid Black theme, it does look and sound rather spot on

HAHA, That smiley face on the Chrono Timebomb made me laugh more than it should! I'm really getting a good sense that this will be a very very solid C&C game that will do extremely well.... I don't get the naysayers, what's there not to like about how this game is coming across on the Marketing Front!?
-
Scientology isn't a religion, so rip into it all you like I was pleased when Issac Hayes kicked the bucket.... that's one less piece of scum to worry about. So when Tom Cruise kicks ends up in the Fiery chasm of hell, it's time for a non-stop all night party!!!

RA3 Worldbuilder Will Not Ship with the Game
Saracen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Ahh, so that's why it's called Apoc's Community Corner Thinking about it though, a rewritten worldbuilder wouldn't be a bad thing. I think if they could pile some resources into it, and get it done, the community would be grateful. Sure the community would be littered with good and bad maps, but it would lift community spirits. Plus the map sharing would be huge... They could even put a map making section on C&CTV... instead of just Command School, they could do a map school with tutorials, tips and advice from the devs... it'd keep Greg Kasavin busy So much potential and opportunity being missed with this app as it is right now, and that does have to change. The community, and especially the fansites could gain so much benefit. I used to love making skirmish maps for the community 10 years ago, and some of them were downright popular. I wouldn't mind doing it again... some good quality maps could go a long way! I'd start with my most popular map though... Rockridge Assault... a purely asymmetrical 1 v 1 map, and it took me a good few weeks or so to perfect the balance on that map... People wanted bigger so I made 2.0 bigger and into a 4 player battleground variant... I would love to make 3.0 as 2, 4 and 8 player variants... that would be damn good!
