Actually, EALA still hold the licenses to JRR Tolkien's books and the movie licenses too. This will means the C&C community is due a quiet period after the current games we see here and their inevitable expansions. With a 2 part Hobbit movie due out around 2010, I really cannot see another C&C RTS announcement after RA3 until mid-late 2011, with the game's release being sometime in 2012.

Yeah, the German, Australian and New Zealand versions have been censored from what I've heard as well. Can't remember where I saw that though. Germany is dead obvious... cos they're scared of upsetting anyone, and perhaps spurring on a potential little Hitler... and from what I'm aware, there was some content in the game that goes against some strange laws that you guys have got down under... so in order to not get an adults only rating, or have the game banned outright, they had to tinker a few specifics.

ID software fell below expectation once Quake 3 came along, and every other first person shooter did it better. Doom 3 was poor in my opinion, and Quake 4 was just abysmal... So unfortunately for ID Software, Doom 4 will be considered crap until proven otherwise.

I'm about 8-10 hours in now, and I wouldn't say it's any of that... Every GTA for example (including this one) has missions where you have to chase someone down on foot or by car... In the past, you'd often fail if they've left your sight. In this one, it isn't nearly as punishing. Cops are another example. In the past you had to keep moving not to be caught by them, in this one they'll often get you to get on your knees before slapping the cuffs on, and even when you've got a gun pointing at your head, you can still get the chance to pull a fast one, by busting out... Mind you this only works when you're in 1 or 2 star wanted territory and you've only got one or 2 cops making the arrest... otherwise, the cops can be damn ruthless as ever in higher wanted levels. The best example of marked improvement is the combat. The cover system allows you to get behind anything large enough to keep you protected. As a result, gun fights are more about skill and tactics rather than just gunning down hoping you live to fight another day. Although there are still a couple of problems with prioritising targets, and also, if you're in a fight and get flanked from behind... it is often difficult to defend yourself while getting a load of lead pumped into you.... But these are only minor and really your own fault if you happen to get into such a situation. The multiplayer though... damn, it's not just good... it's damn excellent, and I'd argue that it's worth the price of the game alone. But to go back to your original question. Really the game has improved leaps and bounds over San Andreas... You will run into a few really frustrating missions, but the game is more about skill and what choices you make during the mission. Plus the amount of timed missions has been cut back as well... those are what I found the most frustrating in previous games and it's good to see less of them. But the game eases you into the whole thing and has a rather comfortable difficulty curve for the most part. The cars handle realistically like typical crap American cars, so that's really the only constant major challenge

I have to agree with Black Vs Bender. They sit there commentating on every match picking out every mistake, and making clear who's capitalising on what. Well, they've talked the talk, but can they walk the walk!?

All the Hype for World in Conflict completely overshadowed what the game really was. This expansion won't be much different from the original game, so I'm not massively excited by this. It's a great online game though.

Update your Graphics Drivers and then try some different resolutions. Often is the case that some resolutions are not supported by your monitor and/or Graphics card. A 1024 x 768 resolution (it's what I use because of the problem you mention) is usually good enough to play Kane's Wrath with, and if you have a decent enough card, you'll be able to crank the detail up quite considerably.

The Mega Collection is cool if you've got a PS2 or cube... well worth getting. It's got every decent Sonic game on it (including Sonic Pinball)... Apart from Sonic CD, that's on the Gems collection for PS2. But the rest of the games on Gems are a bunch of Rubbish.

I'll go with DD on this one.... At least it isn't Sonic the hedgehog, which went crap the moment that went to 3D... The irony is in fact that one of the best Sonic games since the Genesis Era is actually Sonic Rush on the Nintendo DS. Mario is kick ass! I still play the originals on my SNES, and I've just completed the New Super Mario Bros game on the DS... which I have to say is perhaps the best Mario I've personally played since Mario 64... I'm yet to play Galaxy yet, but I'm looking forward to doing so. If I'll be honest the Wii deserves the credibility that it has got, and then some. Nintendo have created a system that isn't boasting hardcore power, and best of all it appeals to everyone... The so called "Only for Kids" thing with Nintendo is total bull. The only Nintendo's I don't have in my house are the Original Game Boy (It died long ago) and a Wii.... and I shall be getting a Wii the moment I have the Cash to do so. And as for my so-called fanboyism towards the Playstation, it's not true... I just don't like X-Boxes.... I've played with both systems, experienced Live, and have not enjoyed using them. After playing them, they just feel like Average Machines in comparison to the Playstation 2 & 3.... The Wii, compared to the 360, may not be anywhere near powerful. But the console holds an undeniable charm that no other console has ever had in History... It doesn't care that it's the small scrawny wimp the cowers in the corner... in its own case it, has brains over brawn and has showed the world that it can be better than both entirely. Yes I have a PS3, but I in fact play my SNES, N64 and Cube in my bedroom more than I do with that giant next-gen horsebox which sits under my HDTV in the living room.

In a Nutshell... Definitely. Yes! The explosive action seen in that trailer is certainly something that adds to the gameplay for me anyway. And without a doubt I believe it'll be great to rally the community behind this one... But I'm seeing this as more than just a Graphical overhaul. The UT3 engine can do so much more from a physics and gameplay perspective than the W3D engine and thus it's only going to add to the overall experience. If they manage to get balancing close to perfect as well... then in my opinion we will be looking at a must have total conversion of 2008.

Rugby Union has gotten worse since it became a professional sport. Before that it wasn't as governed as League, but it's lost an edge, and as a result of the rules a lot of Union games have turned into "kicking touch" games with action rarely getting interesting outside each team's 22 line... And sure you're right Alphabear, Union can be considered a more tactical game, but usually the tactic is always to kick the ball as far down field as possible. League is better though. I've played a few league matches before, and I enjoyed it... It was faster, funner, and damn you need to be fitter! As Sonic's videos show... us Rugby players aren't pansies like American footballers... We don't need armour to protect us or knock 10 tonnes of crap out of the opposition

I mirror that... That trailer was just pure perfect editing! By the time I got half way through I thought to myself... "This makes any official C&C trailer ever made look pants!" I still stand by that statement at the end... The difference between this trailer and many you see from actual companies is that this puts great music, with great visuals and some of the best parts of C&C 95 together to make one hell of an audio/visual experience.. If I saw this Trailer and the TIBERIUM trailer together for the first time with no prior knowledge of what they were, other than FPS games.. I'd be more inclined to check out Renegade X.

It certainly does live up to its hype... The atmosphere, the story, the voice acting.... The Realism! It's all there in one huge dose, and from what I've played so far, this is undoubtedly the best one yet by miles! I laugh at everyone who hasn't pre-ordered in the UK.... There's an estimated 2-3 week backlog cos demand is so high... some pre-order customers are having to wait another week or so to get theirs. It is apparently estimated that all the UK stock brought in from the 1st initial shipment has completely sold out today! So it's possible that some people who have not pre-ordered will have to wait up to 20th May in their area to grab a copy! But yeah... this game is expected to make a minimum of over $400 million worldwide this week alone! Making it the biggest multi-media release of all time eclipsing the likes of Halo 3 ($375 million) and some other movie cinema release ($404 million)... We will see by next week if they have managed it..
