    NOOOOOOOO!

I know, X-Box 360 gamers are gonna be ****** at the remix of Mass Effect for the PC players. Afterall, what makes them so special?
  4. The concept made me a laugh a little... The usual scale they do to man is one thing, but to put him in a pose with an "OMG!" Just caught the funny bone.
  5. Well EA know that everyone loves the bad guys.... even though I thought the allies were a better side in RA2, cos the Tesla coils sucked.
  6. The short sample you refer to sounds exactly like the Renegade Remixed version. I highly doubt that it's Act on Instinct 3.

    Renegade 2007 Video Preview

Wow. That's a thing of beauty. Who would have thought that Tiberium fields coupled with a clear night sky could be a sight for sore eyes. The Team are really doing some great work. OK, it's only eye candy, but it's damn good eye candy. Hourglass (in the video) looks amazing as well. I love the little comparison at the start showing the old Renegade, before being transported into a highly detailed and absolutely stunning version. Just proves really how far graphics have come.

    I want RA3 on 360/PS3

I'm only taking Universe at War as an example, but this is the first RTS to use cross platform play between PC and 360 users. According to early reports from both the media and internally, the 360 version is just as efficient with dealing with every task as the PC version. Tests from media and internal sources also indicate that 360 users are just as likely to win a game based on strategy rather than control. Don't class this as a UaW promotion, I'm simply throwing the point down as an example.
  9. To be honest with ya, the Dave and Raj partnership works really well. And considering these guys are just normal developers (I've met them, and know what they're like) they do a pretty damn fine job. I think without the humour and such BCPT would be a pretty boring show. The humour breaks it up and keeps people entertained, since some people have attention spans of gold fish.
  10. Ideally I think we need to polish off this skin and remove the original icons to something that is more definable: So for examples from our forum: < New posts in topic < No New posts in topic Can be changed to something that looks more vibrant and good to look at (Example from official Petro forums): I think in such a case light and dark Variants of the logo would be sufficient for the purpose. Also as gben mentioned, the folders are kinda dull. If we look at the Petro Forums again, we have different icons: Obviously the locked and moved icons are clear. Normal files are standard topics, and the ones with smiley faces are "hot topics". Obviously we wouldn't have to go with this style, but in truth our IPB icons are rather lifeless and uninformative. So I think replacing them with new more interesting ones will polish these forums off nicely. My 2 cents anyhow.

    Now Playing - Games

OK, a run down of my latest Gaming exploits over the last few weeks: Frontlines: Fuel of War (PC) Patapon (PSP) Supreme Commander & Forged Alliance Expansion Pack (PC) Sins of a Solar Empire (PC) Galactic Civilizations 2 (PC) I'm enjoying Frontlines like crazy. Did a 12 hour online Marathon on Sunday. Damn I kick ass. A few clans want me. But I enjoy being a rogue mercenary.

    Speed of the Light

It's a poorly designed, less ergonomic, totally ugly version of the Logitech G5 and without the weight cartridge. This mouse technology is well over 18 months old.

    Kane's Wrath Story Trailer

It's always one of Kane's right hand Generals, if you look at the pecking order... Seth - C&C Nadia - RA Vega - TS Killian - C&C 3 OK Vega got Nuked, but he still died on Kane's authority. But then again if you're gonna be stronger than Kane, mess up or deny direct orders, you're as good as dead. It is an interesting stroyline mechanic that has thankfully continued. Whatever Kane hasn't told the player yet about his operations, it must be a damn huge Secret for his most trusted to be traitors.
  16. It'll be online. That's where all the balancing and fine tuning can be done. At least then EA should be able to focus on stronger patch management come release. That's something you just can't do as effectively with Single player. Oh and Beta opportunity will be for both this pack and the expansion as well....
  17. Indeed, if you still have proof of the date of purchase within 12 months (in UK). Otherwise you have to pay 25% of the original purchase price to claim a new disc off EA. And to be honest, with the amount I've played C&C 3, it's hardly worth paying for more. Kane's wrath is out at the end of the month (Yes I'm giving it a chance - Don't sound too shocked!) so everyone's going to be using that from then on.

Red Alert 3 Info from PC Gameplay

That made me laugh.... Sorry to burst your bubble, but no. Basically what this means is that EALA has specifically created a new physics engine from scratch. So they're not going to use a purchasable market add-on like the somewhat popular "AGEIA PhysX" Engine, for example. So now buildings for example won't just explode and crumble as a single animation, or be limited to a certain number of constraints that something like PhysX does. EA can be entirely creative and allow different ammunition to create different and Random realistic building demolitions. It could based on where the building is hit, and possibly even how far away it's being hit from. Or if they wanted to go really deep, where the shell likes to explode within that building, either on contact or right in the centre. Each scenario will give an interesting variable and "pleasing" explosive outcome. The only constant is the simulation of gravity itself. But it depends how far they're willing to go with it. More detail can mean higher spec requirements, so it's all a balancing act. But it would be good if they put some intensive detail into the Physics engine.
  19. I'm taking everything as it comes.. I don't hold no excitement or promises and I don't hold no grudges. OK, gratis, I'm a little tight up about Co-Op, but that's because I like my campaign missions to be insanely drawn out and tough as nails. As soon as I know I have that option, and the AI is willing to batter me within an inch of my life, then I'm all good. SupCom does that nicely afterall... But no, I expected nothing new really because all the info we were given, was just being made official. This is what they told the media afterall, and all information has a planned release date. Also, did you notice how they were careful not to go nuts about it this time? They said what they were going to do and they delivered just that... no sugar sprinkles.

    Pic of the Day

Meh, I'm borderline at best.... OK, to keep with the theme.. I'll call this a media of the day, cos pics don't do justice
  21. Should be Worldwide unless specified. I believe EA should change the discs they publish on to better quality versions... also the game cases actually... A ) The discs really aren't that durable and don't take that much to scratch/break/crack B ) Leading on from Point A) The new style cases EA use (In Europe at least) are too tight around the inner ring of the disc. So getting it out is a knightmare. Such pressure on the disc when trying to get out the C&C disc causes damage. Even leaving it in the case causes pressurised stress in the disc itself! I say that because I took my C&C 3 disc out recently for the first time in about 6 months (it came out quite easily actually) and the inner ring had a number of small cracks running around it. To my horror/joy/confusion (delete as applicable), one crack was huge and ran straight through from centre to the outside edge... and we're not talking hairline... we are talking big major, "This disc is ******!!" sort of crack! Funny really... I look after my games discs really well, and I make sure they're in top condition before I put them away. But all my EA published discs look like I've taken them to hell and back.
  22. There's something ironic about all this. I found this BCPT to be quite entertaining, and I didn't even skip any of it! I also found it quite humorous, and better presented than the others. But a lot of the community are just like.... "meh" to this one. So either I'm trying to embrace C&C again with too much of an open mind, or I'm missing the point somewhere???

    CNCNZ.com LiveWire - February 2008

Technically it would still be World War 3. If the soviets were to take out Einstein, they would have done it at a strategic part of the timeline. We still don't have all the details, but they must have done enough during their travel to prevent a particular turning point in history, or at least preventing Romanov and Yuri coming to power so that Red Alert 2 never actually happened. Theoretically Red Alert 1 will have always of happened, because it sets all the foundations for the universe to exist. So no matter how you look at Red Alert 3, it can be classed as another Red Alert 2, or 2.5 even, from an event perspective. So you can call it WW3.
