That was amusing.. Hi welcome to the aftermath... so this is what happened in Battlecast Primetime... But that's all we've got time for, so until next time. Goodbye! Like C&C 3's FMVs, was there really any point in creating that?

He's a Nod Zealot. Which is Kinda borderline Nerdy, but whatever works for him -
Say goodbye to your money then Swing Low Sweet Chariot!

Bah, that's what you said 4 years ago about Austrailia... But did they win? No! British Bulldog Spirit shall reign!

If you're the Best in Texas, that state is doomed!

Hahaha, we killed France... another 4 years! Here we come! I can see the springboks winning against the argie bargies... But I say, now that England have the confidence behind them and are through to the final, I can't really see anyone stopping us from defending the world championship!
-
It's an experience of complexity too, and rather borderline Schizophrenic in my opinion.

I stand by the notion that the only way to learn anything in life is to be defeated, make your own mistakes and grow stronger through your experiences. Knowledge may be power, but it certainly doesn't count for anything in life without being required to carry out the key elements. That's what makes people great. Being told what to do in a safe haven, and being led by the hand will only make you weak. And through a more constructive critical eye, I highly doubt new players will have trouble developing what very little unintelligible strategy there is in this game to become good players. So in my eyes this series is rather redundant. I might as well make a philosophical argument on it.

And it's heavily influenced by the oldest strategical discussion in the community... Build order. Back in the day when the so called Multi-player scene was considered either equal to or inferior to the Single player experience the build order used to be: Powerplant [*] Barracks [*] Refinery [*] War factory [*] Powerplant [*] Radar [*] Extra refinery and/or Extra 1 or 2 Harvesters [*] Advanced Structures [*] Superweapons From there you would then discuss neccessary strategies to take down the enemy using the full arsenal of weapons at your disposal.. Now it's more the case of [*] Powerplant [*] Barracks [*] Refinery [*] War factory [*] 2 Powerplants [*] Refinery SPAM!!! [*] Warfactory SPAM!!! [*] Mid Tier UNIT SPAM!! [*] Advanced Structures [*] HIGH TIER UNIT SPAM!!! [*] Mass steamroll & Win! Expect this school for no-brain strategy enthusiasts to go no further than an intelligence understanding that would struggle to teach my cat new tricks. And all my cat does is sit on my keyboard.

I'm sure he'll do it at a cheaper rate than $15!

For those who think C&C 3 is the strategy title of 2007, and may actually find it intellectually stimulating. Here's something to match your intelligence quota: http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/7638/simpledd7.gif (linked because of transparency)

HAHA a Brit comes out on top! Now all we need is the Rugby and formula 1 in the bag and it's triple crown baby! Looking at the other games, it's hardly suprising that the only Korean would win the Starcraft tournament.

Even though we're a shadow of our former selves... damn I think we've got a great chance of defending it... My last guess was right, and I got a rather sweet payout from that bet

*faints* what did I tell ye? They'd give in eventually! mwahahaha. Good stuff. Now where's episode 6

well even if not organic life-forms, perhaps weather effects and daylight/night transitions, with a view to placing Ion storms map-wide in Red Zones as well. Ion storms were hugely atmospheric and creepy. That darkish yellow/orange glow, lightning raining down. It also added an extra strategic element within the game not being able to launch aircraft or move hovering units. I remember the amount of times I would try and get in an extra strike from aircraft before the storm arrived. It was good stuff. It's just things like ambient sounds, the sound of wind, creepy noises coming from inside the Red Zones.... It creates a more immersive experience. And it's little details like that, that give a game that edge. It would go a long way in this game.

TS/RA2 map tutorial: Triggers taskforces teams and scripts

This is a very good read. Consider it stickied. -
Who cares the Nerds will be dead once they're in anyway. It's only a decoy Anyway where's this thread going? Better lock it.

There's certainly a lot more unit diversity in this game, and it's good to see that they're addressing the late game issues by preventing the infantry from becoming dead end. I've also noticed that they're putting in an effort on the music this time as well. Should be interesting to hear more of that.... Now all they need to do is ensure that the story is strong and the acting isn't wooden, and then I believe they are about 2/3 of the way to getting the game how it should've been. Only other changes I'd suggest are darker and more organic red zones. So perhaps more neutral mutants wandering around the place, and a texture change on the trees within the red zone.... making them look living... The game just needs more atmosphere.

Ideally you wanna pack as many internet nerds in that silo by chucking a huge LAN in there with several hundred copies of WOW, C&C 3 and maybe the odd dungeons & Dragons games.... Watch them pile in, Seal the thing, then arm the nukes inside a let it rip! Well worth the eBay price
-
I'll take 2! I need to kill more Russians! Do you think they can put in a few nukes as well?
-
Well it's definately Kane, but he has that cyborg look about him. Which means either that in an attempt to explain CABAL's uprising and Kane in the stasis tube, it's likely to mean that Kane and CABAL were fused as one, in an immortal frame. Hence saving both of them from near certain death. That'd be plausible I suppose if Kane and CABAL were one. But I dunno, I'm still waiting to see a true sequel to Tiberian Sun & Firestorm. It's been almost 8 years now!

Battlecast Primetime Episode 2 Online Now
Saracen replied to Sonic's topic in Command & Conquer News
Not to take away Lion's Glory, but CnC Den isn't the oldest. It's CnC Saga which has been around since 1996. After CNCNZ was mentioned though, I closed it up. I just had to go play World in Conflict -

Big Mac & Lobster eh? Perfect Metaphor. I was going to write a long lengthy argument, but gave up half way through because it was getting too long and way off the point.. So instead watch this game review, and put it into UaW's perspective and C&C's past in a loosely termed fashion. Just ignore the review's specifics surrounding the game in question. It's the messages running throughout it that just about brings my point across to argue anything I have to say in this thread. -

Generals, Starcraft, C&C 3..... nah. Trust me when it comes to faction diversity, the RTS rulebook is about to be rewritten by a game due out from October 30th. The only other thing I'll say is that in terms of overall RTS gaming. The past is now. It's time to embrace the future. And no, I'm not being biased, this is clear fact. I'm just not going to mention the game, because I know sooner or later, someone is going to scream like a kid who's had their candy taken. And no Luk3us, the Scrin are about as different as C&C 3 is to the rest of the C&C franchise. Any developer can change a few values then slap skins on a side and call it different. They are no different from GDI & Nod. -
The campaign is quite strong, but the AI is a little sketchy even on hard, so it's not really a huge challenge. But really World in Conflict is Ground Control 2 in a modern setting. The thing that keeps this game going is the MUltiplayer though without a doubt. A huge fierce amount of fighting, and high octane action. There is usually always something going on, and you have to push push push to attack or defend. Teamwork is essential and can be quite fun. But you certainly need to use the VoIP feature to co-ordinate or it proves difficult to do very much as a team, since you don't really have time to type stuff out, or read what other people are typing. It's a great Strategical romp which matches Company of heroes in terms of action and tactical combat, but it's not 9.5 material. From the week I've almost had it now, I'd go for the 8.5 - 9.0 score. It's definitely the best Strategy game out this year thus far. But I believe Universe at War stands a good chance of taking game of the Year status for innovation and diversity. Because World in Conflict and every other strategy title this year has severely lacked such qualities. But time will tell.
