Yuri's Revenge Won't Work!

Hi there. I am having a problem. Whenever I start Yuri's Revenge, the screen goes black four about a second, and then an error box appears that says: "Main executable for Yuri's revenge has encountered a problem and needs to close". I have the latest patch installed and have no mods installed, and I have never ran the game. Can anyone please provide a solution to why it dowsn't work? Thanks.

Ah, well its a long guess, but sometimes the game will dump a exception log called except.txt in this case, but its rare though. Check your folder for this...

Has nothing to do with that, Hyper. That exact error is a common problem and has a simple fix as detailed below.

Hey, runtime errors are sometimes caused by heavy modding, or system errors, and on the rare chance they do chuck out except.txt's.

 

I dont play or mod YR enough to know whats common and whats not, but the above still applies.

ollie's problem is very common and easily fixed. I really doubt it would chuck an except for any reason. I'll see if it does when I reinstall Yuri's Revenge.

The game will and only will chuck out a exception log when the game has run GameMain_Init function, once that starts, it will debug anything the game does.

 

Best way to track how far its going is to use a old RP where it dumps to log file...
