Internal error on RA2

Recommended Posts

Guest guest

I just got RA2 yesterday and i have installed the patch. Bad thing is, the game was loading the missions XTREMELY slow. I'm talkin at least 10 minutes for each mission. so i thought, "Hey, why don't I reinstall it!" So i did and guess what happens now, i get this message...

"Red Alert 2 has encountered an internal error and is unable to continue normally

Please visit www.westwood.com ... blah blah blah."

I have restarted my computer and also reinstalled it...AGAIN. What's going on?

Pentium III 700mHz

512 mb RAM

32 mb NVIDIA GeForce DDR

Don't suppose you downloaded a mod by any small miracle? Cause that would make sense.

You could try this.....

Completely un-install RA2 using the Add/Remove program list in your Control Panel. After the un-install is complete delete the game's folders, usually WestwoodRA2.

Open the registry editor (Go to START -> RUN -> type regedit) and search for all references to RA2, remove all these keys from the registry. Reboot the system.

Once rebooted install RA2 then install YR. Download the RA2 v1.006 patch from http://www.cncnz.com/files/redalert2/patches.shtml

Install that patch. Now try your game.

Ah, that works :)

I downloaded it and ran a virus scan on it and it's clear, so someone with RA2 installed can take a look.
