At least I try to use it every day, either for map making or scripting.

 

About your question:

 

Make sure your map is facing North (double click the middle button) -> from the picture toolbar choose the "border" button -> select the upper right corner of the orange rectangle and drag this to the appropriate size. To see this orange border be sure the option "View Map Boundaries" is on (check the View menu).
