What's Panadol for? Never heard of it.

 

As far as the Hard Drugs go, I agree they should never be legalized BUT I do think Marijuana should be legalized and taxed like alcohol.

As far as the Hard Drugs go, I agree they should never be legalized BUT I do think Marijuana should be legalized and taxed like alcohol.

Pandadol is an asprin.

 

And for legalising weed - it would help a few, but trouble the many; - you'd have need for new support groups, helplines, for those that can't stop, and the people and families with little or no $$ because the parents spend it all on weed........pretty much like alchohol.

panadol and asprin are not the same.... there are not the one drug... they might do the same thing relieve pain but are not one in the same...

Not any more. If it was legal then it would be a different story. I also don't drink.

 

If I had to make a choice of the 2 Pot would be it. I really don't like the feeling alcohol gives me. As for the reefer, I still remember smoking a fattie and playing Zork (anyone remember Zork)?

 

The reason I feel it should be legalized is that it is natural, and really not as bad as people make it out to be. Where alcohol makes people start fights most potheads are mellow.

 

Some say that it's a gateway drug, I beg to differ. Back in the day, I had no desire to do anything else (everyone is different though).

 

I think the Netherlands have it figured out. They have their "coffee houses" which sell it (in a "controlled environment" and provide a monetary kick-back to the government. In the US the financial deficit is so bad they could use a new means of tax revenue and I happen top believe that treating Marijuana, as they do Cigarettes and Alcohol, would be the way to go.

Hmmm... I'd think the addiction, not to the drug itself, but the feeling pot gives you and the midset it puts you in are dangerous. People litterally stop having lives because of it. They don't do anything but get high and don't care that they don't have any extra money to live on, they then lack the ability and/or will to try to improve their situation. Keeping them from really living. Legal drugs aren't good for any society. Both alcohol and pot should actually be illegal because of what people do when they're using them.

I am of the belief that addiction is a personal trait rather than an acquired one (from a substance or something else). I believe that there is a medical term "addictive personality".

 

Addictions aren't limited to drugs either. Sex and food are just two that come to mind. Here's another biggee THE INTERNET. Some people just stay at home all day and surf the net.

 

What does all this mean?

 

Anything can be an addiction if not taken or used in moderation.

 

I'll check out the link you posted, I'm curious as to what it has to say.

I'd also say, that in NZ, legalising pot would lead to other problems - pot is sold mainly by the gangs, with very few independent people doing it............ I don't think they'd take kindly to having a major source of income gone.

 

Also, pot isn't the only drug one can get from most dealers.

Do you have a large gang problem in NZ? We have some here but they are mainly in the urban areas.

 

What are the NZ laws regarding Pot?

 

We have a BIGGER problem with Crack! From what I've been told, the "buzz" is so euphoric that people will do anything to get it.

 

I don't know too much about it as I don't associate with those types of people.

I don't really know about up North but gangs in CHCH are reasonably calm. And screw em' anyway.

The "hippy Greens" are a party in the NZ goverment. They like to look after the enviorment and stuff. Hence the name Hippies. They also have a few "odd" members as well.

 

And yeah CHCH for Christchurch. The best city in New Zealand. Auckland would be first excpet for the one little problem.... There are Aucklanders there. And Wellington is where the government lives so nope, and its windy. Dunedin is a hole. And thats it. The rest of the NZ cities all suck. They either smell or are in the middle of nowhere. Hope I didn't offend anyone in NZ with that little rant.
