with the first decade can i run final alert map editor, ive tried but it displays a msg saying cnt find this file or that file.

I know first decade was a little buggy from some past posts. Final Alert 2 worked wonders for map making. What errors are showing up that someone reading this might help out?

The official C&C forums have a sticky Common Problems thread in the First Decade forum section. It covers map editors, so I'm pretty sure that one is included.
