Gben 20 Posted December 8, 2009 http://forums.commandandconquer.com/jforum...list/27622.page This topic was talking about strengthening the armour and adding weapons to the crawlers. By page two, Iverson made this comment which I really liked. I don't want offences crawler to act as a super mastodon, but I would like to see a boost to it's weapons, at least while mobile. While defence needs to get nerfed I think a part of the solution could lie with the offensive crawler getting an effective anti-structure gun while mobile. This would allow offence to fall back, build up a decent army and then throw everything it has (including the walker) at the bunkered down defence player. For a game that's based around mobile all-in-one-bases I think the crawlers are a bit too static, and too much like the mobile warfactory from FS. Turning the offence crawler into a valuable siege weapon would IMO add a fun and cool dynamic to the game - offence sacrificing reinforcement production during an attack in favor of firepower. I think that would be a really great idea... and would balance the two crawlers. The offence would have to undeploy to get it's siege weapon and therefore could no longer build units. If the anti-structure weapon was approximately, as-lethal-as-the-time-it-takes-to-build-a-turret, it would allow the crawlers to stand toe to toe, while the units make the difference. (That being said, still another week of not being bothered to play.) Share this post Link to post

Gben 20 Posted December 8, 2009 Um... I think you're mistaken there dude. They can cue four units, but they can't release them until the crawler deploys... or in the vernacular they can't "build" units until they deploy. But of course the other important point for me was the reference to the the crawler being a mobile war factory rather than an effective 'mech'. Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted December 8, 2009 They can cue four units, but they can't release them until the crawler deploys... What I was saying... they can build the units, but they are stored inside until it deploys. So if the offense crawler marched into battle, it can still build units, it just has to plop itself down before they are introduced into the battle. Share this post Link to post
Gben 20 Posted December 9, 2009 What's with the redundant posts Nmenth??? Share this post Link to post
Nmenth 291 Posted December 9, 2009 You said I was mistaken, so I rephrased myself to point out that I was not... Share this post Link to post
