anywhere. Extract it anywhere and after you are done changing it to your needs, then put it into the folder that the game was installed into. Usually RA2. Into that folder, to make sure it is the right 1, look for the Game.exe. If that folder doesnt have that (or something like it) you need to keep looking. (tip) you can open the rules file that you extracted using tibed and it will save it to the right spot for you.

I'll try again. I sometimes forget that some people can't go about things on their own.

1) Go to the XCC Utilities homepage. Download the XCC Utilities pack.

Page: http://xccu.sf.net/

2) Extract the XCC Mixer to a folder of your choice. Name the folder something like XCC or Editing to help you identify it later.

3) Open the XCC Mixer and navigate to the proper mix files.

File > Found > Red Alert 2 > ra2.mix > load.mix for Red Alert 2

File > Found > Red Alert 2 > ra2md.mix > loadmd.mix for Yuri's Revenge

4) Find the rules file. Should be rules.ini or rulesmd.ini.

5) Right click on the same file and choose Extract. It should come up with your XCC Mixer's current location. Extract the file.

6) Open up the extracted rules file and edit what you want to edit.

7) Copy or move the newly edited file into your Red Alert 2 install directory.

8) Launch the game and test your changes. With any luck, you'll notice the change.
