Smithsonian American Art Museum Invites Public to Vote on Games

Recommended Posts

The Smithsonian American Art Museum is inviting the public to vote for the video games that will be included in the upcoming exhibition called "The Art of Video Games". This exhibition will be opening in Washington, D.C. on March 16, 2012. Two of Westwood Studios' games have been included. Dune II (era 3) and the original Command & Conquer (era 4).

Voting will take place online, www.artofvideogames.org, from Feb. 14 through April 7, 2011. A valid e-mail address is the only requirement to vote. The website will offer participants a chance to vote for 80 games from a pool of 240 proposed choices in various categories, divided by era, game type and platform. The winning games will be displayed in the exhibition as screen shots and short video clips. The website will include an online forum where gaming enthusiasts can campaign for particular games and voice their opinions about the selections. The games on the voting site were selected for their graphic excellence, artistic intent and innovative game design. Results will be available online in May.

So let's help get Command & Conquer into this museum exhibit. Command & Conquer is arguably the reason why RTS game became so popular so its deserving of a spot. Click here to vote. And if you are voting, be patient, apparently each voting section takes some time to load.

I would vote, but I'm not registering. :)

all you do is put your e-mail and that's it, they mail you a pass, and you don't really have to go back to the website at all

I found the site kind of confusing.

Nevertheless I voted C&C... and Doom... and Diablo, and some other good oldies that I barely remember :P
