RainXc 0 Posted February 24, 2011 The Red Alert: A Path Beyond mod has posted a new blog featuring lots of videos captured during recent testing session, including a full play-through of the entirely remade map Seamist with included Teamspeak chatter. There are some shorter clips from the Guard Duty and Complex maps. A Path Beyond is a stand-alone mod for Command & Conquer Renegade. To watch the other videos, read the full blog here. sith_wampa 6 Posted February 25, 2011 Get ready for Gamma, its gonna be crazy. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted February 25, 2011 I've noticed a significant rise in the player counts on the servers. Seems everyone is preparing for Gamma... I'm a bit sceptic about the new Soviet RPG Troopers, though. If Westwood thought such a unit was necessary, they would've given Rocket Troopers for both the Allies and the Soviets Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted February 25, 2011 It is quite necessary with the addition of tech levels. The balance is horrible without them. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted February 26, 2011 It is quite necessary with the addition of tech levels. The balance is horrible without them. The only disbalance I see on low-tech games is Soviets having Heavy Tanks, with Allies only having Rangers and Light Tanks. Soviets don't have anti-infantry vehicles, except for those (to me, irritating) AP Minelayers Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted February 26, 2011 Trust me, when you play Gamma it will feel balanced. The RPG Trooper is also there to balance Longbows, because a Rocket Soldier or two can really mess up Hinds. Share this post Link to post

Plok 327 Posted February 28, 2011 Hmmm... I seem to have mixed C&C 1 with RA 1... I thought all pre-RA2 games had the techtree which allowed "bad guys" to have Rocket Soldiers and "good guys" to have Grenadiers Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted February 28, 2011 Grenadiers are Soviet in RA1, so not "good guys", and GDI has bazookas too in C&C1 (though they can't build them as early as Nod) Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted February 28, 2011 so not "good guys", Since when? and GDI has bazookas too in C&C1 (though they can't build them as early as Nod) I thought you actually have to capture the Hand of Nod to train them Share this post Link to post
sith_wampa 6 Posted February 28, 2011 They did Ahh, I couldn't remember if they were double owned in RA1. I remembered they were for C&C, but I couldn't seem to picture a red rocket soldier. Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted March 1, 2011 I thought you actually have to capture the Hand of Nod to train them Only in these earlier missions. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted March 1, 2011 Yeah, I just can't pass the first several missions. When I get to one of those in Poland (with no bases), epic fail is imminent. I only heard of that capturing Hand of Nod trick on Youtube Share this post Link to post
Nyerguds 102 Posted March 1, 2011 Mission 4??? Honestly? All you have to do there is play it through once to find out where you have to go, and thne just rush your APC to that spot Unless you chose the Byelistok one, that's kinda harder since you actually need to kill all Noddies there. Chronojam 3 Posted March 1, 2011 I miss that aspect to games, picking your mission route. It makes one playthrough faster but lets you try things differently next time. Share this post Link to post

Nyerguds 102 Posted March 2, 2011 You had that in Tiberium Wars and in the recent Starcraft II TW didn't have campaign routes, it just had small side missions you could complete before the main mission. Share this post Link to post
