cant start zero hour

i just copy the folder of generals and zero hour from program files to my friend's laptop

generals can start but zero hour cant,any idea how to fix this other than install it from cd?

Copying their folders is a very poor way of copying games. You could be missing shared files, or even a secondary folder you were unaware of.

 

And why can't you just install it with the CD?

You could've at least copied the registry files. Without them, your game is useless, since you ripped it improperly.

So, pretty much all you have to do is find your lost CDs.

Copying registry files counts as an advanced computer handling skill, since they are not visible like physical files. To see them, you must run regedit.exe in Start menu -> Run...

I can't help you much with the procedure itself, try to Google it.
