Anyway some where along the way my browsers home page got changed. 8) I know this happens often but every single time I reset it to my homepage as soon as I turn my comp off it goes back to the changed one. Which is really starting to piss me off. So any help on how to fix the problem would help.... Share this post Link to post

Luk3us 63 Posted June 19, 2004 Nope. I have Adaware and some other programs nothing seems to work. It isn't my cookies cause they get deleted after every session.... I might look in the registery for something... Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted June 19, 2004 You have some type browser/home page hijacker on your system. Get the latest version of Spybot - Search and Destroy from http://www.safer-networking.org and update it using the auto-updater in the program. Do a complete scan. When you install Spybot - Search and Destroy it will immunize your browser and block nasty **** like this. You should scan your system on a regular basis in tandem with Spybot - Search and Destroy and Ad-aware 6. Yould should also change your browsers security setting for the Internet Zone. Goto Tools >> Internet Options >> Security >>, Change the slider for the Internet Zone to Medium. What does this browser/home page hijacker keep changing your home page to? Giving that info may help tracking down what it is. Share this post Link to post
Luk3us 63 Posted June 20, 2004 Since nothing was really working I downloaded that spybot thingey. It didn't help. But it does stop lots of ads. Including the ones here.... Anyway since I was getting annoyed I allowed the page to load and looked around. At the bottom in little text there was a link to how to contact em'... Anyway on that page was some info on how some software downloads contain some stuff which changes your browser settings and how to go about stopping it. So there my prob is solved.. Tree 0 Posted June 21, 2004 you could have also gone under tools in you tool bar thingy up top and at the bottom gone to internet options... and changed the security level tonot accepting cookies. that always works EDIT: maybe i should have read Sonic's post. He already suggested this. oh well. Share this post Link to post
chickendippers 1 Posted June 24, 2004 Use Firefox - it's faster than IE, has tabbed browsing, loads of extensions, a built in pop-up blocker, and none of this hijacking crap works Share this post Link to post
