Game Freezes without any error messages

I didn't put this on that error log thread, because no error messages showing

 

Well I just patched C&C with your newest patch and hotfixed it. When I start the game, the westwood logo is all messed up, but ingame videos working perfectly without any artifacts. After 1-3 secs ingame the game just frozes. No error messages or sound loops. Music plays normally on background, but pressing esc makes music stop. I have to ctrl+alt+del myself out of the game and kill the process. When using that ddraw.dll mod, the game works fine. (But I hate windowed mode on games too much to enjoy playing.) I tried several resolutions, but no effect.

Any advice? Or anything I can do to help solve this problem?

When using that ddraw.dll mod, the game works fine. (But I hate windowed mode on games too much to enjoy playing.)

 

You can enable fullscreen mode through ddraw.ini in your Command & Conquer directory.

Ill be damned! That fixed the thing. At least It didn't crash instantly.

The ddraw web page explains completely how to use it. All you need to do is RTFM, mate.
