EA Announces Winners of the C&C Bracket Game

Over at the Official C&C website, EA_CIRE has officially announced the end of the C&C Community Bracket game. While the game lasted many weeks, narrowing down all the ranks of Command and Conquer and eliminating the less favoured games, the polls ended in a tie, with Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge and Generals: Zero Hour both receiving 217 votes each.

 

After a few jokes referring to the next game being something along the lines of "Generals 2: YR" or "Red Alert: Zero Hour," EA_CIRE had this to say:

 

Some rumors came up during the Bracket Game that we will do a sequel to the game that will win this poll. The question is, do you really think that we are working on a Generals: Yuri’s Revenge or Red Alert: Zero Hour? You can take a deep breath because we’re not doing any of those wild combinations. The game we’re working on was already in development for many months when I came on board in February.

What a bunch of morons!!!! How can a non-C&C game like Zero Hour be a favorite!!!! And how RA2:YR can win against Tiberan Sun!!!! Tiberian Sun is deep, complex, with good campaigns, but RA2 is just a bunch of jokes and easy campaigns... Tiberium Universe, Kane, come on!!!!!!

C&C is more of a game style or game series these days. Think of C&C as a brand. Its simply evolved over the years. So there for Generals and Zero Hour are very much a part of the C&C franchise. But are not connected to the Tiberium and RA universes of course.

 

Oh and don't take the results of these Bracket Game polls as 100% accurate measurement of the most popular C&C games.

I wanted to vote Red Alert 2 YR but I couldn't because of buggy EA forums. I logged in but whenever when I wanted to vote the page said that I'm not logged in. Refreshing the page didn't help

I think part of the reason why Tiberian Sun didnt win was because people at the community disliked a lot the way TS fans have been acting all these years, calling those who dont agree with them morons, demanding the franchise to always follow strictly the TS canon and style, trolling on the boards and overall being a negative element for the C&C fanbase, we may say they were looking for this result.
