Tiberian Sun Network troubles

Recommended Posts

My friend and I spent hours trying to figure out how to network our CPUs for a game. We finally were able to go to the "lobby" screen, but were unable to sense the other CPUs presence! (I was alone in the lobby, him too.) Does this have anything to do with the "socket number" or "name of destination network" on the options menu? If so, where do I find both the socket number and the name of the destination network and what do I do with them? Please help because I want to play some human people!!!

Well first of all you can't network CPU's, you need an entire computer before you can do anything  (sorry, being annoying there).

Do your computers network normally? ie. can you share files in Windows?

The term CPU to the everyday tom, dick and harry in this world means a computer, or even in terms of a computer game the term for a computer's AI, chickendippers... I must stress in this case the limited level of computer literacy still in the world today.

Anyway.... How have you connected your computers up? Is it something as simple as a null modem cable? (which nobody uses nowadays)... Or have you got the computers networked VIA a PC network router??

In either case you want to make sure that the software you are using to network the 2 computers is installed and configured correctly and that all networking utilities within windows are installed and configured on both PC's.

If this is still not the answer, we will need more details on the hardware you are using, the software (if any) you are using to allow communication between th PC's and what exactly (step by step) you are exactly trying to do... Then we should be able to rectify the problem.

Ok, I'll get all of that from my friend who's too lazy to post himself, and post it tommorow.
