Need help with Final Alert 2 please!

Hello! I just have a couple of questions for single player maps, and I would appreciate any help whatsoever.

 

Firstly, I have no idea how to tell the enemy base to start making teams, e.g. Telling the baracks to make 5 conscripts or telling the war factory to make 2 terror dromes. I am only new to Final Alert 2, so if someone could go through in simple steps and not general ideas.

 

I also need to make a team of conscripts garasin a building, and I am not sure how. If someone could tell me that also, I would appreciate it.

 

I am more desperate to know about making buildings create their teams, e.g. War Factory/Baracks. I am gonna go crazy if I don't know hehehe so any assistance is appreciated :lol:

I am not sure how to make teams create themselves, though it is probably a trigger. to assign a group of people as a team...

 

 

1) create a team

 

2) click on "Nothing" in the navigation bar

 

3) double click on each individual unit and assign them to the team number you created in step 1

 

That works (in theroy i have never actually played around with teams. completely irrellivent to multiplayer maps. But I am very familiar wih the other aspects of FA2.)

 

EDIT: here is something that might help

Quite possibly the easiest task and most essential in the AI file is creating a task force. The task force defines which units are to be used in a given attack or defense script.

 

A usual task force would look similar to this;

 

[TASKFORCE]

Name=5 GIs and 2 SEALs

0=5,GI

1=2,GHOST

Group=-1

 

[TASKFORCE] is the identifier name for your task force. It should be added to the task force list at the beginning of the file. Ideally, it should be a hex identifier but the game seems to parse anything.

 

The Name= statement is not pasred by the game and is not even necessary. The only reason for using it would be identification later on.

 

n=x,UNIT defined which units are to be used in your task force. This is a list and each unit you add must be on a separate line. The lines consist of a number which defines how many units the AI will use followed by a comma with a unit identifier after it. The unit identifier can be from the [infantryTypes], [VehicleTypes] or [AircraftTypes] list in rules(md).ini. One last note, numbering must begin with a zero.

 

Group= defines the default grouping for the units in this task force that is used when this task force is executed or does not have an associated script type. This is over-ridden by the Group= setting in the associated team type.

 

Well, that's all there is to task forces.

I already know how to assign taskforces to a team already, that is not what I wanted. I want the enemy base to create their own teams. Like for example, if a team dies, the base makes the team again, so they never run out of enemies unless you destroy the base.....

 

Anyone at all know the answer to this?

Use a trigger. Use the create team thingey. And the comp should make the team given they can.

 

Set up a team. Script, taskforce, team. In the team thingey deselect the option auto create. The way point is where they all meet up. I think. I can't remember exactly. But it's something like that.

Now all I need to know is how to get troops to garrasin a building. Any ideas anyone?

script or trigger. Tell them to go to waypoint whatever and make that waypoint a building.

thanks everyone for your help! It means heaps to me! Keep an eye out for my mod, coming out whenever I can be bothered finishing it hehe

 

Im calling it Red Alert 2: ReAnimation

 

And I am gonna use movies using South Park type characters
