Main Site Causing Chrome/Shockwave Plugin to Crash or Hang

Recommended Posts

hi sonic

i want to report a major problem with the site..on chrome

when you have news on the front page that are using flash or shockwave plugin, the crome Always crushes!

the latest version that is. 16 or something.

i have to load your site on a non focused tab dont do anything just wait and pray and then loads normally.

lately started to happen when you posts something about the soundtrack video...cant remember now and i am to scared to click on the frontpage, cause it will crash my crome again and at the momment i am in a middle of this and other work that i am doing.

so can you plz take a look on that and maybe you can find out why?

only in chrome it happens, and i have allready tried different workarround with its plugins (enable/disable etc)

thank you

Split this from the other thread. You should just started a new thread for this.

Anyway, well this is news to me. But I did manage replicate what your reporting. No one else has reported it though. Unfortunately there is nothing for me to fix, or nothing I can do. From what I can tell, based on some quick Google searching, the problem lies with Shockwave plugin and Chrome it self. When it crashes or hangs do you eventually get this error from Chrome?

Some people have reported reinstalling the Shockwave plugin fixes this issue http://www.thewwwblog.com/easy-way-install-flash-player-google-chrome.html

So as it stand right now its Shockwave plugin/Chrome causing this.

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Well according to what neogrant posted in that thread, clearing the browser cache fixed it for him so try that.

UPDATE: Just cleared the cache in Chrome, reloaded the page about 10 times, even closed and restarted Chrome a few times and not one problem. Where as before I was getting it to hang/crash more often. Nothing now.
