Facebook & Twitter Integration Enabled

For those who like all the social media stuff. Facebook and Twitter integration has now been set up and enabled on our forums. Facebook Integration allows users to have the ability to use Facebook to login to these forums. While Twitter Connect allows users to have the ability to use Twitter to login to these forums and have the ability to sync Twitter status in either direction, as well as profile picture, profile background, and "about me" information.

 

Signing in using either Facebook or Twitter

 

You should see the Facebook and Twitter icons at the very top of the forum as pictured below.

 

 

Or simply click the Sign In link and you will see similar buttons....

 

 

If you have never registered on our forums you can speed up the process using your Facebook or Twitter account information. When you click on the Create Account button you should the Facebook or Twitter buttons at the top of the page.

It means your status on the forums is synced with your status on Twitter.

There is nothing to be unsettled or afraid of. If someone chooses to sync their Twitter account with the forums, the updates they post via Twitter can appear on their profile here as part of their Status Updates. You will be able tell where they coming from by these icons....

Twitter

Normal status update via the forums.

 

If you don't use Facebook or Twitter, nothing changes for you. Its there added only as a convenience.

I basically disregarded the results of that poll. Especially when there were votes and replies from 6 people. And most of them from our staff.

 

The way I see it is this. The Facebook and Twitter integration is an optional feature. It could potentially see an influx of new members here, boosting traffic and page views in the process.
