Mig Weapon Loadout

Hi folks,

 

Is there a way so that Mig fighters can change their weapon in the airfield, kinda like the Firehawk in Tiberium Wars? For example, I want the Mig to be able to switch between Tank Hunter missiles and napalm missiles while inside the airfield.

It should definitely be possible to get two different weapons on the plane. All sorts of other units have multiple weapon options. I tried to put two weapons on a plane once, and it didn't work, but I think I might have just been lazy and done nothing but say "Secondary = AMRAAM" or whatever I did. Following the code from Burton's gun vs. knife attack should give insight into how to toggle between the two, though I concede that I've never tried this. I think that you would need to make buttons that you can click when the MiG is selected.

 

However, I cannot think of any instance in the game or a mod where something besides an upgrade has disabled the ability to switch between the two systems, as I suspect you want to have happen when the plane goes airborne.

 

You could get around that by making a copy of the MiG and using napalm on one and tank hunter missiles on the other. That's not the same and I like the idea of having the ability to change loadouts like a real air force can do, but that would be a solid temporary solution.

 

A suggestion: if you figure this out, make a tertiary weapon so you can give the plane a good air-to-air loadout.
