Sonic 296 Posted July 3, 2013 After a long week of some unwanted downtime, XWIS, the online service for games like Red Alert 2, Tiberian Sun and earlier, is finally back up and running after experiencing a Denial of Service (DDoS) attack. The announcement below was posted a couple of days ago. Last week, XWIS was attacked by an anonymous coward, a so called Denial of Service attack. Unfortunately this caused a lot of downtime and a lot of work. Our old provider, Hetzner, was not able to support us, so we had to move to a new provider. Hopefully this will solve the problem and prevent any further downtime. All services should be back up, games should count, ladders are up. If you notice anything missing, don't hesitate to notify staff. Click here for the original announcement. Share this post Link to post
Plok 327 Posted July 3, 2013 Well, XWIS does have its disadvantages, but who would hate 'em so much to DDoS them? Share this post Link to post
Banshee 28 Posted July 4, 2013 Maybe someone who was banned there. I don't know. I think it's stupid to do that anyway. Share this post Link to post
