After permitting OpenTTD and releasing the vastly underrated Locomotion in 2004, Sawyer obviously can't stop. We all know how RCT for the Nintendo 3DS worked out (ugh), so this iOS/Android thing may not be the best idea ever...

 

Also, I've attempted to search for this 31X Ltd. It's just a house that may or may not be a hardware consultancy.

Used to play Transport Tycoon a lot many years ago. Very addicting, great game all round really. I read about this new one but since its for iOS and Android I lost interest. As I have neither. A fully updated HD PC remake for Windows would spark my interest again though.

You might take a look at TTDPatch and OpenTTD. They are fan-made and don't have HD support, but they do bring some life to it.

 

If you're looking for a full remake, though, try your hand at Chris Sawyer's Locomotion, his own 2004 remake/sequel with a dash of RollerCoaster Tycoon mechanics (such as ultimate objectives and a bunch of distinct pre-made scenarios). Do ignore its unbelievably low aggregator ratings.

If anything, Sawyer will not follow modern F2P crap, and, as far as I can see, the graphics are about the same as in Locomotion.
