Image resizing?

I forget, why don't we have basic image resizing options for images we paste in from the interwebs?

I understand I can upload to a 3rd-party site, and export to desired size, but I can't be bothered.

 

I forget why we can't just add some code to our image?

The forums already resize images that are larger than the defined the borders of the page behind the scenes. So if you paste in a link to a large image in your post it should "shrink" down inside the display area once posted. If this didn't happen the page layout would break and you would see a horizontal scroll bar appear.

Ok I understand what you're saying, but if I want to post this image at 25% of it's size, for instance... why can't I do that?

Currently the only way to do that would be to upload your image to something like http://imgur.com/ and using the tools there to resize the image. It can't be done here on the forums directly, nothing is built in or supported on the current version of IP.Board we are using. No idea if it is in the new 4.x series either.

Oh.. so stuck with work/effort then or big images.

But weird that some basic code works but not that ability.
