well.. it's harder than that... you need the art.ini (artmd.ini if it is yuri's)... and you can give it anyname you want as long as it is the same as its section in the art.ini file.. then you have to do things to it... your best guess is to copy some simple infantry's section, clone it, then rename it to be the same as your file name. give it a try.. i don't know the art.ini file that well...

don't forgot to add Image= (the old name goes here, caps and all...) and also under the lists, infantrytypes, vehicletypes, etc... if it is infantry, put XX=[your infantry], where X is the next number... you have to put that or else the thingy will never show up...

You could name it anything really. It be easier to locate it named after the unit though. Like if it had a cameo it could be xxxxicon.shp. (xxxx place name there)

If your using an image from a default unit you could use the image= tag. But if added in the art.ini the unit should show up without it.

art.ini would look something like

[unitsname]

Cameo=xxxxICON

AltCameo=xxxxUICO

Sequence=xxxxSequence

Remapable=yes

PrimaryFireFLH=90,0,175

Then the rules.ini would need the name of the unit and it's stats.

[unitsname]

cost=

speed=

whatever else

and name it something so that it can't be repeated... that's always a good tip of having the best results...

Actually, if the [NAME] is the same, the game will randomize which entry it uses in games. The problem is that you must restart the game to get a different entry to be used.

eh? interesting... as in when the game is booted it will choose one of the units, or when there is a new skimish?

You need to reboot the game to make any changes to kick in.

Only when the entire game is restarted.

You need to reboot the game to make any changes to kick in.

That's true for normal changes but this is about semi-random changes.
