Please Help with C&C Covert Ops Install

Greetings to all,

 

I'm looking for some help with the C&C Gold (Tiberian Dawn) Covert Operations expansion pack. I'm running Windows XP so I had to download the Patch that takes care of the Win95 compatability issue. The C&C Gold works fine, but I can't get the Covert Operations expansion pack to install. All I can get is a black screen and the humming of the CD-ROM drive. Are there any other patches that address this issue. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

There is some info in our Tiberian Dawn section that may help you. See here http://www.cncnz.com/games/td/cov_ops.shtml although I think its mostly related to Windows 98/ME.

 

You may be out of luck try to run the Covert Ops CD under Windows XP because Covert Ops is an old DOS application. I've never tried installing Covert Ops on Windows XP myself.

 

Perhaps you could try Windows XP's compatability settings, using a similar approach to the handy guide found here: http://www.cncnz.com/features/tech/ccxpfix.shtml

I'm confident that there is a way to install it... but I do not have the Covert Ops myself (I've still got Worldwide Warfare, which includes this one, on backorder at an online shop). I'm not sure how big the files on the CD are? With a file listing I can try to point out which files would be needed. It will take some effort though
