Command & Conquer : RA2 and Tiberian Sun Video Problem

Recommended Posts

Hi and thanks for trying to help :)!

I recently bought the Command and Conquer collection so i could play the games since i lost all of the old cds :D!

I tried installing either Tiberian Sun or Red Alert 2 but none of them works. I install them and installation is OK, i installed the latest patches from the autoupdater and then when i tried to run the games, a black screen appeared and than it stayed like that. I could perfectly hear the audio of the cinematics, i pressed escape and the cinematics stopped and i got to the menu. I could not see it, but i could hear everything. So audio is ok and installation went fine. I did not have any kind of problem except with video. I tried installing the latest DirectX (even though i have win xp SP2) but the problem persisted. It could be a video card problem but i have a laptop and have no idea what the graphics card is and where can i find it's drivers. Other games like Stronghold or Warcraft III or Diablo II work fine.

Thanks in advance for any answers.

Best Regards

Joni

Try updating your display drivers.

You can find out what video card you have by going to Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware tab > Device Manager button > Expand the Display Adapters category.

This will give you the name of your video card, with this name you start the search for new display drivers.
