Hopefully. I was here to discuss Anzac Day which I would have liked to have talked more about, compare the trench battles in Turkey to the famous invasion of Normandy, but as usual I became sidetracked.

oh, u mean the ANZAC force that attempted to attack the Ottoman Empire during WWI? That beach landing assault didn't go very well.....the British had to withdraw all troops

The basic story, I understand it, is to take the Normandy landings where they come in by boat and storm the beaches and then set it back thirty years. You fight with antique weaponry, going through mud and filth. You are wet, cold, dirty and you have to dig out trenches to fight the enemy off in (that is where the term Digger comes from). You have to face chemical warfare, possibly attack from the air, and the invincible tanks that had only just been made. As I recall, the battle was nowhere near as successful as Normandy and the Anzacs had to eventually pull out.
