Superwapon vs Airforce Challenge need Help!!!

Recommended Posts

On difficulty Hard the Airforce-general seems to be unbeatable.

I got 5 minutes until his attack beginns, he sends in his carpetbomb followed by a lot of paratroopers, comanches and raptors. I tried out several tactics, defend with emp-patriot and soldiers, or avengers and microwave tanks, etc. When the first wave of attack is over he sends in his auroras, always two in a group, they easily blow away my patriots,

i got five of them, but they are nearly useless.

Avengers are verry expensive and i was able to build two in 5min they don´t seem to be worth the money.

Anyone with an good advice out there??

I promise it isn't impossible, no matter what the other suggestions are. The Generals Challenge was designed to make you think. To make you strategize, and to make you win with the tools you have available to you. That said, here's some tactics that I've used to take down ol' Granger with Alexander:

The EMP Patriot is your best friend. Build lots of them, and make sure to keep your power flowing. No matter how good the laser-point defenses are, as well as the countermeasures, one hit from these babies will take down any air unit, except for the Stealth Bomber.

As for the Stealth, don't worry too much about it. When you build your base, space the buildings out, and don't line them up. By "lining them up", I mean pretend that there's an imaginary line from his corner of the map, and line it toward yours in any direction. Now see how many buildings are "lined up" from his base. If you can build it so that there's only one or two, and the important ones are alone, then you can rebuild what he takes out with relative ease.

Finally, back your Patriots up with Avengers and Rocket Soldiers. Yes, rocket soldiers. As strange as it may sound, the rockets will distract the laser-point defense systems, and will increase the chances of an EMP Patriot hit. Like I said, one hit will tear that puppy down.

As an addition, I've noticed that some people tend to under-use the Pathfinder. Just two or three of these guys sprinkled through your base can really be a blessing. Place them around to cover your base, and make sure you don't have any infantry making any surprise visits.

Now that your defenses are up, how to attack? First, make sure you have at least one Particle Beam. Notice how I said at least one. Because Alexander builds them for less, you can build more easier. Use them to take out his Strategy Center, and then his airfields. Finally, take out his power. Because he only has regular Patriots, you won't need to worry about them much if you can get your Countermeasures installed.

Alexander has excellent aerial tactics of her own. Presenting the Aurora. Our general's got fuel bombs in these suckers, which make for excellent firepower. Use them. A lot of them. You may end up losing them, but as long as they do their duty, you can smoke through power, airfields, and other high-profile targets, causing general havoc.

Finally, the attacks. My personal preference on this map is to send chinooks filled with rockets and snipers. I usually send three at a time, with seven rockets and one pathfinder in each. Sometimes I'll fill up two humvees with five infantry each and then add two snipers into it, making for a total of fourteen units dropping in at once.

Drop them near the back of the base, where the anti-air is easiest to deal with. He'll immediately send any infantry at you, which the snipers take out with quick work. Always space your units out, and take any infantry out of the humvees. The raptor's missles will destroy them otherwise, and make your launch useless. Take your units as a group, and get rid of the airfields first. The best way to do this is to have your rockets lock onto the raptors with their lasers. Though the raptors will block the missles, the field will take the hits, and even three or four rockets will blow down an airfield quickly.

Now, just rinse and repeat. Granted, this strategy takes a lot of cash, so grab up any oil derricks you can find, and build a good number of air drops. This is the strategy I used, so I hope it works for you.

Hey, I've tried your way, but I only stand for less than 15 minutes. After that, my base is in ruin. His aurora bomber is sucks, and it's destroy my emp patriot and cold fusion reactor.
