Help please (online play)

hi, i recently re-installed RA2 and am having problems with online play... when i click on internet and then one of the next options (e.g. quick match) it says it starts trying to download an upgrade (which worked fine the first time i installed it) but now it just says "the download failed, please check your connection and try again later". i'm pretty sure i've disabled my firewalls and everything. any help would eb greatly appreciated

well that would only happen when you either have a pop-up blocker, firewall, sit through a proxy, or if you're not connected to the internet. so make sure to fix one of thouse problems, and it should work just fiine

Download the patch and install offline. Works more often than through the Internet.

i don't see why it would matter if you're on or offline, but if it helps, go with his idea.

what the hell, i have been working on this pretty constantly for about 2 days, and i have downloaded patches and installed offline many times. soemtimes i get the "old file not found" error, other times it's "invalid file" error. Finally for some reason everything installed fine, including the 1.006 patch, offline. Now i try to connect to wol and it claims i need an update, anyone know why.. the real kicker is that xwis runs perfectly.

Yeah XWIS may not have many players but it beats the S**t out of WOL
