Cygnus X-1 12 Posted July 29, 2005 Alright dude. Noone can help you out if you dont post system specs. What we need: Hard drive space, RAM, video card, and processor. Hard Drive sapce. Thje amount of "memory" that your computer has. This is easy to figure out. 1: Go to "My Computer" 2: Right click on "Drive C" or "Local Disk (C: ) 3: Go down to "Properties" 4: Click on the "General" tab at the top (if its not already there) 5: Tell us how much free space you have. RAM. Random Access Memory. This is the amount of "memory" your computer allocates to active programs. To find this 1: Open up the Start menu 2: on the right, go to "Control Pannel" 3: Click on "System" 4: Click on the "General" tab at the top (if its not already there) 5: Tell us how much RAM you have. 6: This will also tell you what processor you have. Tell us that too. Video Card. This is the graphics machine of your computer. Basically, if you bought your comp less then 2 years ago, and its not a ****ty $200 peice of crap, then it should work. It must have some sort of 3D driver. Contact the maker of your comp to update all video and Direct X drivers. Unfortunatley (for you, and maybe me) I have no idea how to find out what video card you have. All I know is that if its an nVidia, or an Athlon 8x00 or better, then you're good to go. I feel sorry for you if you have an Intel graphics card. (I do. It sucks. It plays Generals, but its kinda slow.) Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted July 29, 2005 mine's almost 4 years old and all I've ever had to upgrade is my Graphics card to a 256MB that supports DirectX 9 compliant games.... Not bad for an aging P4 2Ghz with 1GB RAM... a machine I paid my right arm for which was well ahead of it's time So yeah, specs please since it helps a long way  Share this post Link to post
Sonic 296 Posted July 29, 2005 Download and install the EVEREST Home Edition - System Information Tool. It will tell you everything you need know about your system. Then use our Generals System Requirements page at http://www.cncnz.com/games/generals/sysreq.shtml to compare. Share this post Link to post
Scorpio XIII 0 Posted July 31, 2005 Download and install the EVEREST Home Edition - System Information Tool. It will tell you everything you need know about your system. Yeah it really helps, although it just confirmed my thoughts that "My comp is slower then using a chisel on a rock to make documents." Share this post Link to post
Guest Smart246 Posted September 23, 2005 rolflmao  you know they don't put the "Recommended" system requirement's on the box for the game, and i was getting upset myself and had it returned 3 times and my problem was the drive which needed to be a 'CD ROM/DVD ROM' drive... Cygnus X-1 12 Posted September 28, 2005 thats why your name is "Smart246" right   @ Sonic-a good tool, but people should get to know how to navigate around their system a bit. Ya know, in case they get lost or something   Share this post Link to post
