Zero Hour Startup Error

Recommended Posts

Hi, I own both C&C Gens and Zero Hour and yesterday had both of them installed, I tried to get a no cd patch for Gens to play at a LAN party and it messed up the game and it wouldn't even let me uninstall Gens, but ZH was fine. I uninstalled both manually and then reinstalled both. I have installed the new v1.04 patch and when I try and start the game it says 'Missing CD' "The first disc is not in the drive" but the disc is... I have no clue what to do now.. reinstalling it seems like a dumb idea since I just reinstalled both and patched it about 30 minutes ago.. somebody please help.

Never EVER use the no CD cracks on anything newer than TS (including FS)

they do baad things man, baad things.

Manually remove everything form the Gen Directory (like click and drag to recycle bin) then try it again

No-CD cracks are useful... they keep my CDs from being damaged.

I have No-Cd patches for all my games except C&C Generals, ZH, Ra2 & Yuri. Somehow, No-CD patches for them never work

I have never used used the official CDs for Generals. I don't even know what they look like.

I never use No-CD cracks. I use CD images instead. For those of you who don't know what they are, they're basically a file composed of everything on one CD. Programs like CloneCD make them from CDs, and programs like Daemon Tools make the CD images think they're still CDs and in the CD drive. The file is kept on your hard drive. Daemon Tools makes a new drive letter on which the CD image is placed. Then you can just run the game normally.

These aren't for those low on disk space. But they're incredibly useful.

another New Zealander. Cool.

Hmm....Cd images. As long as you buy the games, but if you're not apying for them, then......at least buy the C&C stuff.
