Japan 'water hose' jailors freed

Recommended Posts

lol this is so funny read the whole thing

Two Japanese prison guards have walked free from court despite being found guilty of killing an inmate by spraying him with a high-pressure hose in 2001.

Mikio Otomaru was given a three-year prison sentence, suspended for four years, and Masahiro Takami a 14-month jail term, suspended for three years.

The men sprayed the inmate's bare buttocks which inflicted severe damage to his anus and rectum and he died the following morning of a bacterial infection.

They should not be freed

They should be sentenced to death

I don't agree with "sentenced to death," they should receive punishment however and be locked up for whatever prison term their country chooses.

ROFL, fair enough. I just don't agree with killing other human beings, no matter their crime. They should get a prison sentence for manslaughter.

I guess you're right.

Anyway

Some ppl rather die than receive punishment.

Capital punishment is a very controversial topic. I assume your in support of it if the crime is murder? I find it difficult to agree with, no matter what anyone says, because theres always the element of doubt you have the right person, and even if you do, the person may be deranged or insane. I don't think its right to kill those people, even if they are "evil." They should serve a full life sentence in prison.

And eye for an eye seems rather pathetic to me, more childish than full of wisdom.

Well, I must agree with hybrid here.

It's kind of like when a kid punches someone, and he's like "Well, he punched me first!"

In this case it's like, "Well... he killed... him first!

Thank you for your input too BWare, seems you have a rather wise prejudice against me now. Are you always going to act as an arrogant child or actually state something worth arguing with?

Do you have anything to say about this topic? If not, what was the purpose of your own post, you seem to moan about the purpose of mine.

Totally agreed Hypno, otherwise it would appear like a playground. Capital punishment also has the possibility to be inaccurate and sentence and innocent person to death. At least with prison sentences, if new evidence comes forward they can be hauled befor ethe court again.

Cut the fighting the both of you. I will not see another forum infected with petty fighting due to differing beliefs.

good going fen

now back on topic....i dont think they should be killed.

the thing is i dont think they realized the water cannons had a high enough pressure to damage his anus. i bet they wanted to control him or something but i;m sure they didnt mean to kill him.

since i believe it was unintentional, they should not die. maybe given a light sentence then let free

the important thing is wheter is was intentional. spaying the water at him was intentional but damaging the buttocks and killing him was not. therefore, the charge should be light

Those prisoners were just lucky they don't live in Texas. Yeeha!

Anyways, I would say death, but I guess I would consider life sentence.

Deaths are painless in jail(Well in the states it is, all we do is inject someone and you go peacefully) but they man must of suffered so much pain.... I say the prisoner is like the brain, and the two guards are the eyes.

why life sentence?

it was not an intentional murder, thus it does not merit a life sentence.

i say several months.

you people should not go to law school ..... or become judges

they key is seperating what u feel from what should be done. true, its was very cruel, and i feel sorry for that guy, but i do not let that affect my decisions.

here's another tip..... if its legal, but immoral.....its perfectly fine (this does not apply to this situation so dont attack me for saying its legal)

I agree with the decision made. The guards were simply doing their job even though they were overally zelous in their application. It wasn't intention and besides it was done to a prisoneer. Who must have done something to warrant in prisionment.

Doing their job?Doing their job?

They can do their job WITHOUT sparying their bloody anus!!!

Since when doing their job is by sparying ppl's assholes!

I totally disagree

ok,

Think it like this.

Did the guards "need" to use the hose to spary their anus.

I could have juz done their job without doing that.

I am right?

they didnt need to do that, but they did not intentionally kill him.

since it was not intentional, it does not merit that severe a punishment
