Oh... I really feel sorry for you if you can't appreciate the Chronicles of Narnia. If you can't see past the admittedly childish story and see the MUCH deeper allegory......

CS Lewis is a freaking genius, and the Disney interpretation of his book is incredibly faithful. Look deeper people

My sister isn't on here but she says that I should see Brokeback Mountain, so its one for the Gay Flick one for the Chronicles and Zip for the Goblet. (You may have noticed that i didn't include Brokeback in the poll, I figured no one would vote for it, but if you do just reply and say so.)

Goblet is ok. They cut a lot of material from the book. I haven't seen the other 2. But I wouldn't see the Potter movie stand alone. It's one of those things where ya gotta see the whole series.

I've read all the Potter books so far (even the sixth) and saw goblet of fire once, but i fell asleep in the first ten minutes.

Well if you've already "seen" it then go for Narnia

I stand by BWare on the CS Lewis is a gneius. I've read a lot of his matrial, including his space trilogy. Phenomenal stuff.

Okay, I'll see them all.

First, by popular vote, I'll see Chronicles of Narnia. It's playing at midnight tonight.

Then, because the first ten minutes were good, I'll see HP and the G of F it's playing at the dollar theatre tomorrow morning.

Last, I'll see Brokeback Mountain (I really don't want to watch a movie about gay love, but I'll live through it) with my friend ashley, cause even if i suggest another movie, she'll make me watch it anyway.

ashley is my Ex, not the one who dumped me because she thought that i was gay, of course, she felt that I would be better off with a girl at school named Katilyn.

I liked the Chronicles of Narnia. Even if the good guys get far to many breaks. ;)

Harry Pothead is just overhyped crap.

Amen Luk3us

But you have to consider the ALLEGORY behind the Chronicles of Narnia... the actual storyline, and the "breaks" the characters get, are second to that.

...those are both vapid, stupid (but entertaining) movies.

Read my above comments about the Chronicles of Narnia.

Haha, now that I agree with. :P I did actually see that one, and it was just horrible.

Okay guys, I saw all three last night, thats why i didn't wake up till like half an hour ago.

C of N isn't too bad, it follows the books well, and is fairly emotional. the action sequences are a little spaced but are pretty good while they last.

HP4 wasn't too bad. It was considerably better than the the first three, and since I didn't fall asleep, I know that it cuts out over half of the book because it leaves out all of the sub plots.

Brokeback Mountain isn;t nearly as bad as it sounds, though it is definately uh.. unique. It is a gay romance, but it has alot more action than i thought it would because people freak out alot in the movie. I read a little behind-the-scenes thing online, and it was hilarious. Both actors are straight, and it was very awkward, and one guy broke the others nose while making love (how the heck?)

So the best of the three was Chronicles of Narnia.

There is a book about the C of N? :o

Okay, I'm sorry... that level of ignorance is just sad.

The movie is based on the epic book series by CS Lewis, and at the heart of it is an incredibly solid and incredibly deep Christian allegory (Note to the slow: Aslan represents God/Jesus, Evan represents mankind, etc).

Sorry if I don't give a wooden nickle about books...

My order(its reversed for alot of you)...

1. See movie.

2 Then find out about the book.

(This one you might not or might do)

3. Say **** the book and watch the movie again.

No. Thats not the order you do.

The movies ALWAYS suck in comparsion to the books. Besides whats the point of reading the book if you're seen the movie. You already know the main points of the whole story. So its a waste...

The Lion zee witch and that wardobe is alright. The one that preceeds it is kinda intersting. If not a little weird...

They're all kinda interesting, and what do you mean a LITTLE weird? other than A Horse and His Boy, the Magicians Nephew was the strangest book in the series. Voyage of the Dawn Treader was my favorite

Amen Luk3us. Movies, when based on books, are horribly dumbed down. Nothing beats the complexity and depth of a good novel. Movies, while flashy and more visceral (depending on how powerful your imagination is, of course ), just can't compare. They need to fit the sometimes idiotic Hollywood mold and wrap up nicely with a victorious good guy and a vanquished evil guy. Books more closely mirror the complexities of real life.

I agree with you in most cases, but there are some stories that made better movies than books. The Haunting, The Watcher, and Jurassic Park 1 all made better movies than books. Maybe someone should start a thread for books or movies all round (not jst recent)
