Zero Hour Hosting

Recommended Posts

Alright guys... ive searched the forum for an answer and only found out that people had this problem with generals but not with zero hour... so heres the problem:

Whenever i host a game nobody can ever see it, ive opened all the ports in my router correctly and closed xp firewall and made exceptions for the xp firewall too... i also have closed any anti-virus firewall programs or anything which would prevent me doing so.

I can join peoples games fine though and ive also tried the port override function.. there doesnt seem to be an answer to this but if someone has any suggestions id appreciate it.

Oh.. im on a 6mbit dsl connection and have an

amd xp 2200+

xp sp2

768mb ram

9800 pro 128mb ram

if that helps.. another thing which may be an issue is that in my router options i have the option to create a virtual server.. and in order to host another game i had to open this virtual server, basically it allowed the game to broadcast my wan ip instead of my lan.. i was probably going to try this with zero hour but wasnt sure what port id need to use

any help would be greatly appreciated

Id guess at the fact he dosnt have the right version. Some time its just a general EA screw up thou :(

tell him to turn all background stuff off like Anti-Virus and windows firewall and try. If not re-install get new drivers for vid cards ect and try again.

He using Dial-up? i had bare probs with that.

ai ea lovse screwing stuff up.. wont go into that though as im sure enough people on this forum cover up the screw-ups they do

ai hes got that all turned off.. hes reinstalled now too

not sure what updating video card drivers would do though since it seems to be a connection problem when he plays with more than 1 player
