Cant install Zero Hour

Recommended Posts

Guest Freku

I have the original cd's, but Zero Hour won't install.

Generals is installed and is working fine.

When trying to install Zero Hour i get 2 options:

repair - it will ask for Generals cd and repair Generals ?

remove - well it removed Generals. :-(

after remove i installed Generals again, but Zero Hour

still wants to repair or remove.

I think there is something left behind on hd or registry.

Anyone ?

Sounds like something is messed up somewhere

You could try this. Remove Generals (and Zero Hour). Goto START > RUN, in the run box enter "regedit" (without qoutes). In REGEDIT goto EDIT then FIND and type in keywords such as "Generals" to find all references to Generals in your registry. Repeat this process for Zero Hour.

Once your done with that reinstall Generals then try installing Zero Hour.

Warning: Be very careful when your editing your registry!

Regedit didnt help, so i reinstalled Windows.

Zero Hour installed after that.

Took some time, but worth it. :D

I unfortunatly had a small problem with my C&C Generals CD, in that it got run over by a chair (Yeah Yeah stop laughing) but lucky I made a copy of the installed directory, not lucky I didnt make a backup of my disk :( Anyway, I'm now trying to install Zero Hour it keeps saying I need Generals installed first, it is from my backup directory so there isnt any registry entries to say its installed.... Long story I know and bugger!

Does anyone know what reg entries I need???

Download an ISO, use the Daemon tools. Probably your only hope, short of buying a new set of discs.

Know a good ISO location? And not familure with Daemon tools, might be new disks :(

And thanks for the quick response :)

tenically telling you where to download a iso would violate the forum rules (it is tenically warez), but i'll tell you to do a google search or use bit torrent sites.

Actuly you do not need to install generals for that

you only need the registry enteries for generals in your registry

i can tell you a location to get registery enteris for you

i actuly made a registry maker for the game so i do not need to install the game each time :)
