Weird lag, probaly due to patching......=/

Recommended Posts

Guest General_F

Okay people, this is the civilised post :o:P.

I recently got my Zero Hour game back from my friend, and ofcourse i installed it and played it...

After a couple of days i patched both Generals and ZH to the latest versions, and now, every time i when i play for like 10 mins, the game starts to lag, its not just any lag, its a weird EVENED-TIME-lag....w/e=&

I mean, its more of a CHOPPY lag, every 1 second it lags 2 times, and it goes on without ever stopping, normal lag is longer, or shorter, and maybe sometimes stops for a while, but this is some seriously annoying lag, i even tried lowering the graphics to minimum, medium and highest, no changes.

M system specs are way over the recommended & ofcouse minimum, DirectX is fully updated, AND both Generals and ZH worked before the patches...

I searched google, and it gave me this:

The guy Ravemanson probaly has the same problem like me...

When he patched Generals & ZH, he started having all these laggz....

Any ideas for solutionz?

Turn down the graphics. That usually helps but beyond that, no idea.

I already tried that,(which i also explained in my first post^^

(".....i even tried lowering the graphics to minimum, medium and highest, no changes.")

Well i had no luck..

but now i just finished reinstalling both Generals and Zero Hour, and i didnt install any patches... (and i pretty much hate EA games now for their weird laggy-patches  but ill take it back if im wrong:S)

So anyways im about to play some ZH now and see if it still lags...

Ill get back to you guys...

EDIT:Damn it!! Ill take it back, i just tried ZH and its still lagging, tried the graphics at low/high, didnt help...

Damn it, could anyone please just help me? any ideas is greatly appreciated...

well....damn, it seems to be the patches fault anyway:O

But how the hell do i fix this? i reinstalled both games, without deleting the folders in my documents, and without removing other things such as registry keys, but do you guys really think that would help?

These types of problems are a trial and error sort of thing.

Shut down all non important background apps to free up system resources. Make sure you have installed the latest drivers for your hardware. Get the latest release of Direct X from Microsoft's site.

Defragging your hard drive may help.

You said your system specs are way over the recommended, post exactly what you have in your system.

Right, my own specs are:

Windows XP PRO,

Intel Centrino (mobile)

512 MB RAM

128 MB Graphic Card

2.0+ GHZ

And the DirectX fully updated

well its not way over but i mean its more than the minimum and recommended requirementd asks for....

and it sure doesnt make any sense cuz the game worked all fine just before as i installed zero hour and patched both generals and zero hour to the latest version=/

and ive already tried shutting down all backgrounds problems, restarting the computer, i even shut down the sound!

DirectX is fully updated too

but ill try defragging my harddrive.....

Oh well

You just can't expect the game to run very smoothly on THAT computer. Plus, you didn't tell us anything about the GPU besides its RAM.
