This is the ranking system I saw at the community summit.

Remember, it's not confirmed, if you take a look at the description in the gallery. It might be for squads, units, possible squad leaders, or, maybe for different kinds of units.

That it is. I couldn't take a picture of it.

You are highly elaborate sometimes Jefferson.

I think that having 7 ranks is a good idea. As far as I'm aware you can't directly upgrade Squad infantry units. So the only way to get them from a pulse rifle to a humongous rail gun is to keep them racking up the kills.

Singular units like snipers or commandos will turn into leathal killing machines. Highly accurate to the point where snipers will become impossible to find and will be able to destroy light vehicles. And the commandos experts in special operations and able to dish out the power of a avatar mech. Yeah, that sounds good to me.

But I bet getting them to the supreme stage of uber rank will be extremely hard.

Could be. I think it is a great idea that there should be more rankings, but too keep up with seven could be kind of difficult in a fast moving game. But like i'll complain.

I'm guessing the higher ranks will probably never be seen in most games as it'll take to long, to many things to kill blah blah blah...

But to have those in skirmish games against the AI will be very fun indeed :D

Of course, I've always been a nut for complex ranking systems...

I think what they could do that would be really cool with the generals powers is have three general categories for them:

(and these are categories I just thought of now, as it just came to me now)

  • Spy/Sabotage - things like spy satellites, sabotaging buildings, stealing enemy's money, etc

[*]Bombardment - calls in bombers, artillery, etc

[*]Upgrades - lets you purchase special upgrades for your units and buildings that can't be bought with money (almost like the generals plans in Boss Generals)

  • I actually thought of this due to playing world of warcraft, and in that, each class (warrior, hunter, paladin, mage, etc) has 3 categories of talents, and gets talent points to spend every time they gain a level

I know they won't change it now that the game's so close, but that's something I hope is in the game

Interesting tougth, if not only Avatar has those "special upgrades", like say nod's tank with laser and they keep it in secret for the official release.
