GDIklz 0 Posted February 15, 2007 should i get the radeon X1950 PRO 512MB, or the Geforce 8800 GTS 320 MB with these specs? # Chipset Manufacturer: NVIDIA Core clock: 500MHz DirectX: DirectX 10 DVI: 2 Memory Clock: 1600MHz Memory Interface: 320-bit OpenGL: OpenGL 2.0 Stream Processors: 96 TV-Out: HDTV / S-Video Out VIVO: No # Model #: PX8800 GTS TDH 320MB which 1 would do better in C&C 3? and does the fact that this Geforce 8800 GTS only has 320MB RAM make a difference? Psg188 0 Posted February 15, 2007 8800 is a DX10 card, if your upgrading go with that Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted February 16, 2007 Both are the top cards from their respective chipset manufacturers. The X1950 will no doubt run C&C 3 on max flat out. However EA have an extremely close relationship with Nvidia, and no doubt, by now all the rigs that run C&C 3 at EALA are using the 8800. I've got an ATI x1600, that'll run C&C 3 on max settings without a doubt. It may require a small tone down, but it'll do the job nicely for me. Share this post Link to post
Alphabear 11 Posted February 16, 2007 Im running an ATI 1600 also so fingers crossed it will be good Share this post Link to post
Saracen 16 Posted February 16, 2007 Well it should do, the card runs BfME 2 on full max settings with no slowdown whatsoever. Works like a treat, I expect C&C 3 to not be that much different. Share this post Link to post
