Heeeelp (renguard gone bad)

So. I was playing renegade. With renguard. Like I always do. And I kept getting disconnected, which happens to me occasionally. I switched servers a few times to try and find one with a good connection, and then Renegade dissapeared. Renguard had a message saying, "Your attempt to use the LAN exploit has been logged and will be reviewed."

After doing a search at http://www.renegadeforums.com it appears that this is just minor issue that affects a small percentage of players connected to the RenGuard network.

 

According to this post http://www.renegadeforums.com/index.php?t=...art=0&rid=0 you can ignore it, reconnect and play.

TSBO is absolutely right. Renguard is the most annoying piece of software (besides mac os x ) that I have ever used :roll:

 

It constantly pulled **** like this on me, whether it be lan exploits, corrupting newly reinstalled maps (glacier flying), etc....only problem, you can't use many commands on servers that are even half-renguard :roll:

 

I absolutely ****ing hate it

Why do you people have so many problems with RenGuard, I've been using it since day 1 and never once has it killed my game or done anything wrong.

RenGuard is fine to me, it carries with it some useful in-game tools and I like it a lot. It's like the Renegade version of Punkbuster, which I love. This is the first problem I've ever had with it. I was scared because I thought it'd delete my acct or something.

 

Also, the fact that maps now load in 0.5 seconds is GREAT. Renguard did something to make a big difference in map-loading times. That plus a SATA RAID setup and an Athlon x2 with a Nvidia 7950 ... Muahaha.

 

I love using new hardware on old games. Make them run like lightning.
